After I big chopped, I used a comb. Now, for like the past several months, I have not used a comb in my hair. Which route have you taken and why?

I don't use a comb once my hair is in braids or twists. I undo and redo using fingers for as many months as I wear the style. If wearing my hair out, I use a comb every time I style my hair.

I comb once every two weeks, when my hair is out. Otherwise, fingers only to redo/touch up twists.

I don't twist or braid my hair often so I can go for a very long time without a brush or comb in my hair. (I only comb about once a month or every other month.) All that combing kills my curl pattern. I detangle every time I wash or co-wash with my fingers.

Since I did my BC, I just use an afro pick, that's it. And I'm a little bigger than a TWA. It detangles quick.

I detangle with a shower comb, and I part my hair for twists with a wide tooth comb. I fingercomb if I'm trying to "style" the bush.

Rarely do I comb after wash day. It's fingers all the way from there. Really has helped with retention and thackness.

I don't really comb my hair anymore since I have a denman brush. I may use the comb to fluff out my hair a little bit. I finger comb most of the time.

I detangle everynight when I co-wash. Thankfully my comb just slies right through my TWA. But it will tangle given the chance. If my hair does not have conditioner than my fingers will do. Usually in the mornings to fluff it back up. No conditioner = no comb. Ever.

I use a wide-tooth comb in the shower to detangle my hair when shampooing. I don't comb my hair dry.

I only use a shower comb to detangle my hair after washing once a week, and the end of a small comb for parting whenever I do twists or braids.

i used to go weeks without touching a comb; reason being i was just very lazy. now i will use it once a week during my wash day in order to detangle and get out shed hair. i feel like i'm treating my hair better this way but i'm not sure. i'll try once every two weeks when i take my braids out.

I do the same thing. Except, I don't comb when I co-wash, which is like every other day or so. I usually do a nice combing out every week or 2x's a week.

I have a TWA. I use an afro pick to fluff my hair. I just stick it in and pull it up a little, I don't actually pick it. I detangle on wash days 3x week using either a shower comb or wide tooth comb using my beloved CON. And I use a rat-tail to do parts for my flat twists.

I rarely use a comb, I'll do a co-wash and then use my fingers all the way. I've been playing with coils, so I would use the end of a rat-tail comb to part those.

I alternate between my toothed comb and denman brush to detangle, and rat tail combs for parting.

Oh, and only on wet hair.

I very rarely comb. But I use my Denman whenever I detangle, which is any where from 1x/month to 4x/month.

I never comb when styling. I use the end of a rat-tail comb when corn-rowing, but that's it.

I use a comb to detangle when my hair is drenched in conditioner. I have problems with tangling and matting when I don't detangle properly.

I detangle with a WIDE toothed comb every time I wash and deep condition once a week. I detangle on damp hair with a leave in that way I don't lose too much hair. Every 3months I detangle with my D3 denman brush to remove the shed hairs.

As of now I don't use a comb for detangling.. well I am in the TWA stage. Now when my fro gets much longer and thicker.. I probably will get me a detangling comb to use in the shower. But even when I was relaxed and my hair was shoulder length I still didn't use a comb, only my fingers for combing and detangling purposes. Prepooing with oil mixed w/cheapie conditioner really helped my hair to be mostly tangle free.

But when the front of my hair is being styled into flat twists.. a small teeth comb is used for parting.

I just use a baby brush and baby comb for the front hairline/baby hair.

I only use combs on wash day which is every two or three weeks.

I use a soft boar bristle brush on my edges sometimes in between depending on the style just to keep it looking neat.

I detangle with a K-Cutter comb after my 2hr preconditioning treatment with the conditioner still in my hair. I use my Denman 4 brush during the final rinse to remove excess shedded hair.
