Which flat iron is your favorite?

After searching the forum I am very aware of the other "best flat iron" thread. BUT after reading that thread I would love to see what people have to say about the particular brands I listed.

Also, please list:

* How much you paid for it?

* Results you get with it

* Size in Inches

* What heat protectant/hair products do you use before you use it?

If yours is not listed please feel free to post it and its specs.

Thanks in advance I really appreciate all of your input.:yep:

I have both of the Maxiglides, both sizes.
I can't remember how much I paid for them though.
They make my hair silky and shiny. It works the best straightening my curly hair because of the little prongs.
I don't use them much and haven't used a heat protectant with them.

I have a Vidal Sasson Studio Tools Tourmaline & Ceramic Straightener

* How much you paid for it?- $16.99 (It was originally 50.99 but I got it on sale!)

* Results you get with it- I absolutely love it! After dealing with my cheap conair flat iron, I definitely notice a difference! I was able to straighten my natural 4B hair w/o it being dry or having to go over a section many times. My hair was very shiny and I had no heat damage. I also love how it heats up in 30 secs.

* Size in Inches- 1 inch

* What heat protectant/hair products do you use before you use it?- I've only used it once, because I'm currently on a challenge, but didn't use a heat protectant.

I got the sedu I believe it is 1.5 inches, I got it to replace my crappy gold n hot with the gold plates which was garbage. I got it from folica but I forget how much it cost. Either way it was a good investment. My hair comes out silky, straight, I get no burning smell like I did with my gold n hot. I haven't tried any other ones on the list but I love my sedu

Humph... I'm not voting until I see a picture of your hair:look::lachen:

Okay

Give me 20 minutes... :yep:

I need want need another flatiron. I have many 2. i'm going to get my daughter who is natural a Maxiglide it seems like it does nature hair great. but for myself idk.

I wish i could have voted twice because it would have been Maxiglide and the Sedu...

but since my maxiglide broke this weekend, i placed my vote for the sedu

(my maxiglide cracked at the hinge, and exposed some wires... so i'm :( right now... i miss him, but that deal from hsn is looking mighty good right now)

I'm in the market for a new flat iron and read many good reviews on the sedu and solia for not having that burnt smell.

But one question I do have is, when you clamp the flat iron together (without any hair), do the irons close completely leaving no gap?

FHI

* How much you paid for it? 79.95 from folica.com

* Results you get with it...soft, silky, swingy hair with no damage.

* Size in Inches - 1 inch

* What heat protectant/hair products do you use before you use it? kiehls leave in, heat protectant creme and silk groom serum

SEDU
* How much you paid for it? $135

* Results you get with it - I have a weave, but the Sedu straightens with one pass of the iron. I also like that I can curl with it as well.

* Size in Inches - 1 inch

* What heat protectant/hair products do you use before you use it? CHI Silk Infusion

I have the Pink Chi iron. I won in an Ebay auction. It's hard to say how much I paid for it b/c I also it came with a 2 oz bottle of Chi silk infusion and a 10 oz bottle of iron guard. All this for $75. I would say that the iron was anout $55.
I know that alot of the ladies here don't like the Chi b/c it lacks temp. control. To be honest I was a little scared by this aspect as well, but I have to say that I really love my Chi b/c I can straighten my wole head in 15 minutes and that is with one pass on each section AND the sections don't even have to be that small. It's amazing and I am addicted. It's wondderful.:drunk:

The only thing that I am interested in purchasing next is a Maxi glide...:ohwell:

* How much you paid for it

~$35

* Results you get with it

I have no complaints. I'm often asked if I'm relaxed.

* Size in Inches

Mine is the Jilbere Ceramic plated from Sally's. I think it only comes in one size.

* What heat protectant/hair products do you use before you use it?

I always have a small amount of leave-in conditioner and coconut oil in my hair prior to ironing.

I have a Solia.

* How much you paid for it? About $100?

* Results you get with it Silky, smooth, soft , shiny hair. I don't use it often, though.

* Size in Inches 1 1/4 in.

* What heat protectant/hair products do you use before you use it? PM Super Skinny Serum and/or CHI Silk Infusion.

I spent a lot of time researching before I bought it. But, I think most of the expensive flat irons are generally pretty equal. The lower-end models that I've tried (Conair, Hot Tools) are just not worth the money or time, IMO.
