you know, the ones that you tie kinda like a bandana but folded into a slim rectangle and tied in the back and the rest that is untied hangs down? I have been to hairstores but they really dont have good looking ones or either they dont have them at all

Not sure I follow. Do you have a photo of this way of tying? Or do you just mean big square scarves? Long rectangular scarves? :ohwell:

ETA: I buy mine off the street vendor. :sekret:

My mother's top drawer :blush::grin:

Like the above poster, I also like thrift stores. Most have new and used items. Scarves are cheap there.

I buy 100% silk from the fabric store and make my own. I cut my scarves to my own specs, i.e. single layer, extra long tie ends to go around my head twice, etc., then I overlock the raw edges.

I totally agree! I buy fabric from Hancock fabrics and sew the edges so they don't unravel. They can be as long or thick as I want them that way and I get the option of more patterns that way

So how would the sewing challenged go about it? Just buy the fabric, cut and hope it doesn't look too raggedy? :look::lachen:

I actually picked up 3 really large ones that were 100% Silk from Marshalls for $16.99 each. HTH

I get mine from Ebay. I have over 100 scarves that I use for my hair, as belts, for my pocketbooks and as a neck accessory.

I got a whole bunch at Target :rolleyes: then accidentally threw them out with the trash :wallbash: I am going to go right back and get them again!
