Malibu 2000 Color Correction (I'm going back to my natural color for a while :yep: or :ohwell:...have mixed feelings)

I was looking at the ingredients for this and I don't see what about it will correct color. Not a permanent one, at least.

Ascorbic Acid, Dextrose, Disodium EDTA, Sodium Gluconate, Sodium Lauryl Sulfoacetate, Citric Acid, Xanthan Gum, Betaine, Silica.

Here are the ingredients in their hard water treatment:
Dextrose, Ascorbic Acid, Disodium EDTA, Sodium Gluconate, Sodium Lauryl Sulfoacetate, Xanthan Gum, Citric Acid, Betaine, Silica.

Not much difference. :look:

I know Citric Acid can act as a chelator - so maybe that's what it's doing.....*shrug*

Gods help me, I just brought 1000g of Amla and 1000g of Shikakai powder....and I'm trying to arrange with a coworker to get her hubby to bring some more over from India when he comes home. :nono: I need help. :lachen:

Chelating I can see - it has EDTA in it as well. But does that remove color? :look: I can imagine it fading semi-permanents over time, but to call it a "Color Corrector". Oh well, who am I to question - they must know what they are doing.

All I know is that I use Ion's chelating powder that has a similar ingredient list and it does not remove color.

The Malibu 2000 site made it seems like it really does correct color and that it is ALL THAT. I doubt it can break through Bigen though. I had been checking it out because KhandiB asked me if I knew of anything that can remove Bigen. I don't think this Malibu 2000 can work the Bigen.

I don't think it'll take you from black back to blonde, but a chelator is basically 'lifting' minerals and metals from your hair - and all a permanent dye does is deposit color (what is color? mineral? metal? plastic?) onto your hair. You'd most likely have to go through a couple bottles of it..... I dunno. You'll have to let us know how it works, Eisani.

 And you know, sometimes I wonder if they know what they are doing, or if they are just straight lying. Does anymore monitor beauty products to see if they do what they 'claim' to do like the FDA does with health products???
