I just got my hair colored on thursday. I got that peek-a- boo color by this lady who made my hair look like one big puff when she was done after she "tried a rollerset". I will not even go into the girl she had put in my rollerset and how much hair she took out. Or how expensive it was to come out with a crappy color. But my REAL question to you all is how do I change this. Its a permanent color but its only in the front area. I want to change my whole head to jet black. IDK if I have to wait awhile or what? I just dont want my hair to fall out and to get this taken care of asap. Thanks soooo much to anyone who has any ideas.

OMG dominicans why did I leave you for this woman....I have learned and I will stay with you forever and ever :wallbash:

You can cover it with a black color rinse/glaze/semi-permanent (goes by so many names). It just deposits color so it's safe to use at the same time as other chemical services (ie relaxer). Jazzings is a popular brand, but I prefer the Adore brand or Color Expressions(? comes in a silver bottle). I find that the later brand gives the deepest color of the three.

Oh, and your ends may come out a little stiff, but don't worry about that they will soften back up after you condition/deep condition.

Ok thanks alot. I have used Jazzings before. I was just afraid of my hair falling out in some way since the color I just did is perm. SO I can put a rinse/semi-perm on a week afterwards with no issue? I am trying to do this on friday.

I'm in the same boat. I agree with doing a rinse. Wait until the color grows out a little before dying it again. I like Via rinses(it comes in a little silver bottle). I got great color over my highlights from it.

How light is the color? I got red highlights in my hair and when I put a black rinse in it turned them a brown.

Oh yeah, that's the name of the one I was talking about. Not "color expressions"....I don't know where I got that from:rolleyes:

Yes you can use a rinse soon after a relaxer, you can even do it on the same day as a relaxer, that's when my old stylist used to do my color rinses. ( the color comes turns out much better if you do it right after a fresh relaxer IMO)

yeah red + black = brown. The rinses don't really change the color it just covers it. If you want the highlights black you could use Bignen. However, I wouldn't do it. Bignen doesn't contain ammonia but it still uses another ingredient to "lift the cuticle" to deposit the color. I'm not sure if I used the correct phrase, but you get my point.

Ok thanks a lot. Another question is when I do that will my hair turn brown in the front and then the back be jet black?

Get some Colorshowers. My hair was turning green because I have been permantantly dying my hair red, and I was being lazy one day and but a blue black (Colorshines Sebastian) and should have added more black base to it. My hair was a deep dark GREEN in the sun. :lachen: The lighter it got due to fading, the worst it looked. So I got the BLACK colorshower and it looks normal. Maybe you should use brown. But I would stick with colorshowers...leaves your hair soft and doesnt stain the skin the rest of them.:nono:

I would start with a dark brown or brown black then and see how it turns out. Then if you want to go darker you can get the jet black. Oh, btw the Adore brand is like 1.99-2.99 a bottle. So you won't be breaking the bank by taking the extra step.

Thanks A LOT ladies. I really needed this advice. I am gonna get this done on friday. I feel more ok about doing it now :yep:
