I can't remember the last time I relaxed, but I know it was atleast December of '07. I know I haven't relaxed my hair in 2008. I am getting very tempted to end this trans-tretch-ition on 3/31 and just relax my hair again. Relaxing is so so easy (but only because that's what I'm used to) , and I can't really tell the texture of my new growth yet ( I know it's softer than I thought, but it's thick!-meaning, I don't know what a full head of it would feel like. For the ladies' who've reached this crossroads, what are the pros and cons of natural hair vs relaxed? Help me! I don't know which to do.

I'm right there with you. I last got a texlax on 12/30/07 so I will be 12 weeks post on Sunday.

I am not yet waivering about my decision to go natural though. I'm told I am a 3c and I like my texture. So far I've tried a wash & go (didn't wear it outside) and now I am wearing it flat ironed (although I did not get the roots as well as a stylist).

As of now I am still going to go natural. My last stretch was 18 weeks and it got rough at the end. However, now that I have changed up my products (which I realized I needed to do at about 8 - 9 weeks post) I am enjoying my hair again.

Pros - wash & go styles, less damage without the chemicals & my hair seems thicker & it seems to grow in faster

Cons - SHIRNKAGE; learning to deal with natural hair which reacts very differently to products than relaxed hair.
