I bought this as a newbie b/c Kinikakes used it and I loved the way it just melted in her hair and of course the name carrot oil was a major attraction. What I forgot was that I wasn't permed and so how the product reacted on my hair was VERY different

This mess leaves my hair so crispy!!!! I mixed it with some Palma Christie oil (the haitian version of JBCO) and it'd didn't help much. Still crispy. I can't figure out what ingredient makes it so hard.

How do you use this oil? I need to use it up quick, fast and in a hurry...

I use it but I'm permed. You may want to use no more than a nickel size on freshly dried or damp hair. If you use too much your hair will be yucky :nono: How much did you use?

I apply on every twisted section so I use a fair amount. My hair is too thick to just use nickel size.

But when I first saw it being used, the person saturated with Carrot Oil and the white film eventually disappeared.

So it's like a Giovanni product where you can only use a little? If the quantity I use means crunchy, then this product is not for me b/c by using a nickel size many sections of my hair would not have any product on it.

let me clarify: I have a lot of fine strands. Maybe this one just doesn't go well with my fine hairs?

I have fine hair too. But I know a little bit of this product goes a long way. A nickel size is how much I use but depending on your hair density you may have to use more. My hair dresser used to use this product on all her clients. She would proportion it based on how thick someone's hair was. But I don't ever remember her using a lot of it on any one person.

I use this as well, but I'm relaxed.

However, I will add that the only time I use is after my mid-week wash ONLY when I'm bunning. I add to the top layer of wet hair and saturate my braid ONLY. I try to use Shea or Jojoba oil inside my bun and closer the scalp :ohwell:

I tried this a while ago and it made my hair feel hard and brittle.:perplexed
The ORS ollive oil cream on the other hand makes my hair soft and moisturised. I used the same amount with both creams.

I have fine hair too. It did wonders for my hair when I had it weaved up and I moisturiced the braids.

I used it and I liked it.
I am using the ORS Olive Oil cream now only because I wanted to try something different. The Olive Oil cream is not bad, but I have A LOT of new growth which is very dry so it's not moisturizing my hair enough.

I'm giving myself a touch up tonight so, I'll see afterwards.

OMG I am glad someone mentioned this....I have been using it lately and my hair(natural) feels crispy and dry too!:perplexed I guess this may the the product causing it.... I will have to go back to my ors olive oil lotion and leave this one alone for a while.

I was just about to make a post like this.....does the carrot oil have alot of protein in it?

I used it this weekend on my texlaxed hair and l feel its more moisturizing than the olive oil.

BUMPING.....

I'm using this currently and used to use it years ago. Does anyone find the consistency of the creme is very thin and runny or do I have a bad batch??

I looked in a few other BSS's and found when I opened it was a lil runny. As I used Hollywood Beauty Carrot creme when i was natural I may have to go back to using this and see how I go.

I have relaxed hair as well. The product may become running because of the all natural ingredients. I just shake of the bottle and everything is good to go. Tonight I'm giving it a try with a full head baggy:yep:

My ORS CARROT CREME has a nice, soft consistency, similar to a thick sour cream. Tames both my natural inches and my relaxed length. I love the way it gives a sheen, behaved strands and great combability. Post fighting the twists, tangles and dreads..this feels so good.
