I know this is probably beating a dead horse and I apologize, but I just started cowashing, and I'm not sure I'm doing it right. Do you normally use more than one conditioner?? I tried to do a search but I only came up with types of conditioner. Thanks in advance

I CW with one conditioner, Mane n Tail. Then I follow with a DC with a different conditioner. I'm sure there are various ways that the ladies do it.

First I wet my hair and apply a cheap conditioner. I usually leave it on for 5 minutes or so. Then I rinse it out and apply a better conditioner, I use either bedhead moisture manic or pantene's hydrating curls conditioner...I rub my scalp as I would if I were shampooing...I detangle, then I rinse it out.

I follow with a leave in conditioner and style.:yep:

I do it a little different I pre-cowash with conditioner on dry hair before I wash. Then I wet add more conditioner let sit about 5 minutes or so then detangle and rinse. Follow up with leave in, moisturizer, and then seal with oil. Its a lot but I got a lot of product to use up. Recovering PJ! HTH

I just did this. I let some conditioner sit for a few hours on dry hair. Then I rinsed out and washed with a cheapie dollar store conditioner then rinsed and applied a leave in.

Yeah I don't know if it makes a difference but I have tons of conditioner to use up. Then I can justify buying more.:look:

For the actual CO-Washing process I use one conditioner- VO5, White Rain or Suave. I apply a generous amount of conditioner to my hair while it’s wet then I work it in thoroughly as if I was shampooing my hair, next I detangle (in braided sections of course) then I let it sit in for 10 mins or so then I thoroughly rinse it out.

My cowash is pretty simple. I get in the shower and get wet. Apply the conditioner to my hair and then take my shower...letting conditioner penetrate for a few minutes. Then I'll work the conditioner in with a little water and cleanse my scalp, rinse and get out :look:

ETA: I use cheapie cons also...Suave, Tresseme, WRTC

I alternate between a moisture based and protein based conditioner. I use Suave for my moisture and Mane N Tail for my protien. Right, now I co-wash every other day.

Ditto on this... I use Suave Tropical Coconut and The Original Mane 'N Tail. Like whatever I grab first... I switch it up randomly no rhyme or reason. I usually pour 1/2 cup in an empty Suave bottle and fill the rest with water and then dump it in my hair.

I hardly every mix conditioners except if I'm DC-ing but I do alternate with protein(reconstructor in the name) and moisture (:rolleyes:moisturising in the name)for co-washes

I apply a good amount of a moisturizing conditioner to my dry hair right now I'm using Motions then I put a little Pantene Breakage Defense in there and let it sit in for about 20 mins while I clean or something. Then I rinse in the beginning of my shower and apply a cheapie con and let that sit while I finish my shower. Then I massage my scalp like I would with regular shampoo and slap it into a ponytail to airdry. By morning I'm ready to go:drunk:

This is exactly what I do.:yep: I have even started rinsing the conditioner only about 80% of the way out and I'm really digging that so far.

CW is the best. Only takes an extra 5 minutes in the shower.:yep:

I use suave coconut conditioner and then follow up with a dc (org hair mayo mixed with honey & evoo) and then finish-up with giovanni direct leave-in sealed with coconut oil and baggied (my hair loves it!!)
