Interesting - would the butter mix that I twist my hair with be considered a leave-in?

I might have to do a search for some homemade leave-ins, just to get an idea of ingredients/texture....

I just put a little of whatever conditioner I'm using back into my damp hair..I really don't purpose to buy leave ins  off to beb

I use leave-ins out of habit -- they definitely helped my hair to get healthier. Now that it is healthier I probably could skip using a leave-in every time I shampoo/condition.

Y'all, I never used a leave-in until coming to this forum :hammer: :spank:( I just didn't know)....I didn't truly understand the purpose of a (moisturizing) leave-in until my hair was dry and crunchy after a rollerset  (about 1 week ago)....one of the the ladies hit me up and broke it down(thank you very much).... the 1st time I used a MOISTURIZING leave-in (NTM Silk Touch to be exact) my hair was like :thankyou: :thankyou::thankyou: what took you so long ?
This is my dry crunchy hair.

Yes, Once i joined this board, i started using Leave-ins.

I started out w/ Dominican products. Lacio Lacio and Salerm21 then off to find a cheaper alternative, I got some HE Long Term Relationship & HE Break's Over Leave-in Conditioner.

I don't really use a moisturizer so having this on my hair after washing creates a protectant for my hair, its softer, its stronger, I like using just the leave-in and water/oil combo for rollersets so it's not cruncy.

So i wash, apply leave-in, rollerset, "grease" my scalp w/ QB Amla Oil Nourishing Pomade and then apply coconut oil on hair or other random oils.

Yes most definitely! I wouldn't be without using one. For me I never have problems with tangles (knock on wood) leave-in for me are more for moisture and manageability before drying and for combing. I would never comb my hair after a wash w/o one.

During the week I just started using a pea sized amount in my hair and sealing with coconut oil. I find it's extremely light and doesn't weigh down my hair like moisturizers often do. My hair is REALLY light and fluffy with body that MOVES, which it doesnt seem to do when I use moisturizers. I currently use Herbal Essences Long Term Relationship Leave-In or HE Break's Over leave-in.

Yeah, what she said!

I always use a leave-in. To me its really important since it remains on the hair long after the conditioner is rinsed away. I am a little pickier about the ingriedients in my leave-in more so than my conditioner because of this reason.

Wow...I barely use a leave-in conditioner anymore. I haven't used one in over 6 months. :look:

Hmm..maybe I should pick up some HE Long-Term Relationship at the store today. :look: :giggle:

I use Lacio Lacio & HE Break's Over.
I even put both of them in a spray bottle with water to spritz my hair when I blowdry or when I just need a little moisture.
BTW, I'm almost out of Lacio Lacio. :nono:
My poor college student budget can't afford it right now.
Maybe I'll go back to Garnier Leave-In for awhile.

I put Tresseme Vit E cond. in a spray bottle with water and use it as my leave-in. Works great for me.

Yes I do use a leave-in conditioner:
Afro- Detangler and Garnier leave-in. They are both totally awesome and works extreme wonders on my hair.

I used to use a Fantasia IC Leave in Conditioner. I don't know why I stopped as it was an instant detangler and gave me much slip. Now that I've seen this thread, I'm going to order some, cuz I kind of forgot about it.

I used to use Infusium 23 as a Leave In....

Im currently in braids so Im using a my own moisture mix of Surge Plus 14 /Aloe Vera

I never had a problem with tangles or matted hair so my cheapie DC( Cholesterol) suits me fine... but cuz Im a PJ and cuz I couldnt walk past the last 2 bottles onthe shelf in my local Walmart, I recenty some HE LTR Leave In... I also wanna try HE Break's Over Leave In simply cuz I like the smell of coco mango

YUP,YUP and off to buy more later. I use HE ltr and salerm, I just moved so my giovanni is packed but I luv that stuff to! What moisterizers are you using? I have been using a leave-in and sealing withh coconut oil.

yes i use a leave in. i didnt use to and my hair was not soft. but now i wash with a moisturizing shampoo and rinse with HE LTR and then use salerm 21 b5 or deep condish and then salerm

I am hooked on that Garnier sleek and shine leave in. It really does what it says. and it's sooo moisturizing! Works wonders on my roller sets and it makes my hair baby soft. I can't keep my nose out of the bottle either. Smells delicious!

Okay, so I go to the CVS yesterday, and couldn't find any HE leave ins, all they had were conditioners. Does the HE leave in conditioner actually say "leave in conditoner" on the bottle? Anyways, I bought the HE Hello Hydration and for 8 bucks for the bottle, it better do a better job than my 88 cent V05, but I absolutely love the smell! Since I couldn't find any HE leave ins, I settled on the Dark n Lovely/Beautiful Beginnings Ouchless Detangler. It smells yummy, so I'll try it this weekend.
