I posted that thread because u asked for info on which sulfates are milder or worst than others since it had a pretty detailed list in that particular post.IDK, but I don't really think shampoo is all that damaging to hair. I've seen ladies with the finest hair types that wash very often. I think it matters more about what you do with the clean hair and how you treat it afterwards than the shampoo itself. Besides, too much (of course) is bad anyway. Maybe a dime-size amount for medium-length hair?
Also, I know co-washes keep the hair moisturized and protected from drying chemicals, but do your products work just as effectively day-to-day. It seems like my hair retains more moisture when my hair is cleansed often, and it seems like my products do nothing for my hair when it's not at it's cleanest state.
Also, baking soda, I agree, is stripping. Though it's not so much of a detergent than the sulfates, too much made my hair stiff. The first time, it was soft, but as often as I have to clean my scalp, I don't want to use this too often....
I may just dilute my shampoo (or oil the hair before shampoo).
Ammonium if I'm not mistaken is more harsher than Sodium. That must be a clarifying shampoo you have.
Yea Sulfate dry out your hair and scalp. Ammonioum is wwwaaayyyy worse then Sodium. Amm is more drying and it damage hair and scalp. It's just that sodium is more common cuz it's cheaperAmmonium if I'm not mistaken is more harsher than Sodium. That must be a clarifying shampoo you have.
