I'm not using it now, but the Daily Leave-In Tonic is a pretty good detangler. I gave it to my mom & she liked it too.

Please don't tell me you're planning to go out and buy even more products :nono:. On second thought, maybe I shouldn't have given a positive review .

The half pic.....I got a jungle of kinks and curls so I figure I would wait until I relax to post a updated picture. I am trying to inch my way to apl so that gives you a general idea of how long I am now. I could really use your length right now:yep:

Don't let that pic fool you :lachen: My newgrowth is serious right now but for some reason, just rollersetting has been doing the trick. I didn't use anything but rollers in that pic. I have been trying to really stretch this time to see if that will help get over this shoulder length to apl thing faster. I know this is the time where alot of people have trouble. I know how long it too me to get to shoulder length with healthy hair so who knows? I hope you are right though...BSL in 2009 has a good ring to it :yep:

Please spill the beans on how you got your roots straight just by rollersetting. I'ma need step-by-step techniques, products, dryer temp, type of comb you used, size of rollers, etc etc :lachen:. I would stretch forever if I could do that.

As for BSL, with all that knowledge you got, it's a sure thing.

:lachen: I guess its all in the placement. I rollerset like most people do here, the whole mohawk and the two sides. I use red sized rollers but right now, I usually use the yellow ones with the snap covers from sallys. They are just a touch bigger than the red ones. I roll the mohawk first. I pull them tight and try not to have any roller on the very crown of my head. That way when it dries, I don't have any bump at the crown which combined with the newgrowth would just give me more poof. I use a creamy leave in and make sure my hair has a good amount of it worked in. Lately its been the herbal essences LTR one in the red bottle. I spray my whole head with Paul Mitchell seal and shine and dry on low. My dryers low is probably most people's medium  After my hair dries I sit back under with all the rollers taken out for just a couple more minutes. Then I finger comb it down. I cross wrap to keep it flat. I just use my fingers and part my head in the back and pin down. Don't worry about trying to get your parts straight. Also....my conditioning trick is to prepoo with hair mayo or cholesterol with heat on damp hair before shampooing. Follow it with the thickest conditioner you have for just another 5 minutes or so.

I use biolage products - I use the Ultra-hydrating balm and the daily tonic. I used to use the fortifying conditioner too, but since I started henna'ing I had to stop - too much protein. I like biolage a lot.

When I first started on LHCF (and after trying the Infusium 23), I alternated between Nexus Headress and Biolage Leave In Hair Tonic. The Biolage is very good, has no protein and detangles very well. It's a little more watery than some leave-ins (you spray it on) but I have always liked it. :)

Me and you are going through the same thing right now. I swear I'mma do my reveal at the end of bootcamp and have hair that's the same freaking length! :wallbash: I don't even need BSL, can I just get a APL in 09?

Well Gymfreak, you know I use Biolage. I use the ceramides and the conditioning balm and I love all of them. I aslo use the hydrating mask which is okay.

(this was my first time using the combo and love the results)

I picked up this when JCP had the buy/one $1 to try as something that might give me a sheen, instead of oil sheen and it's actually quite nice.

It has bamboo, rice and milk thistle (whatever that is) as some of the ingredients. It falls under their styling products but it's not drying at all?

Yes, I have been trying their line:

I like for my niece -- Biolage Ultra Hydrating Shampoo and Ultra Conditioning Balm. This really turned her hair around, coupled with treating with Almond Oil. It is now soft and easy to detangle. I like the conditioner for me also.

I am also testing the Biolage Smoothing Line - It comes with Smoothing Shampoo, Conditioner and a Serum. It was pretty good, hair was soft but still reverted after pressing. Also, the smell is not too strong which I like.

 The leave in hair tonic!

I've tried the Sally's knock-off version of the conditioning balm and it was okay, but nto as good as my alter ego energizing conditioner at all.

Thats what I fear too! I seem to be gaining thickness but length.....I don't know. Everyone keeps telling me how much better and longer it looks but I don't see it. I guess I need to take more pics.

Thanks for all of the reviews ladies. I think I know what I will buy now.

Ah ha, there you are!

I am going to try this out with you. I went to JCP today and got the 2-for $20 at JCP (sale ends March 14).
I got the Hydrating Balm, and the Conditioning Balm to start. I am going to use this weekend and if my hair responds well I will get something else before the sale ends...let me know what you get.

BTW your hair is blinging away in that siggy...now I am curious to see the rest of it.

I have the Hydratign balm... for me it works OK... nothing to do backflips about... when I run out, I doubt if I buy it again

Dont get me wrong, I like it.... it's just nothing phenomenol and IMO, you can get just as good results with something less expensive

I caucasian friend of mine gave me a jar of the hydrating balm years ago. I was like "uh....thanks"...but the whole time I was thinking:

"My hair is going to eat this stuff and still be hungry"

Little did I know that this stuff would turn my hair into butter when I use it. Since then I was hooked. I use the daily leavin when I rollerset once a week along with the fortifying and hydrating. Ulta has buy 2 get 1 free sales from time to time. That is when I stack up on the stuff.

I love the Biolage Daily Leave In Tonic. Right now I'm alternating between that and the Herbal Essences LTR Leave In.

So the hydrating balm is not the same as the conditioning balm?
I'm going to Ulta today and may pick up one...
