I am interested in getting one to see if it can help me detangle my hair. I have relaxed hair and at 11 weeks post...its a jungle in here

What denman do you use?

I use this one. The D3 Classic in "Panther". It will detangle the hell out your hair and it feels good against my scalp. I haven't used it that much cause i have so many brushes but I HAD to have this one because I'm slightly obsessed w/ animal print and it was too cute to pass up.

Got mine off Ebay.

Is there a diff between the Denman's? I bought a D4 at Sally's, on sale ($5.99) and used my coupon and discount card.:yep: And I know it will be a while before i'll be able to use it.

I want one but darn if I can't find them in any of the BSS:wallbash: Looks like I'll be forced to by one from the net. I've heard way too much about the D3 and D4 brushes, but I haven't a clue what's the difference though.

I have a Denman Paddle Brush (#D83). It worked great for detangling when I used it reguarly, but I haven't used it in a while (I'm trying not to manipulate my hair so much).

Click on this link and they give you a chart to let you know which brush will work best for your hair.

Ohhhh thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you!!! Now I'm stuck again, I'm between a D14(short hair) D4(thick and curly), uh which one should I choose?? I mean my hair is uber thick, but yet it'll be short for awhile you know. So what do you think?

gymfreak, thank you, thank you, thank you for starting this post!!

Thanks for posting this, because I have a Denman and couldn't remember which one it was. But thanks to that handy dandy chart, I figured it out. I have an all black D4 and I've been using it since my hair was 4 inches long. I got it from Sally's. It's great, I love it.

I have a knock off denman, it's the goody brand. It's identical to the denman as far as look and I have no complaints on the detangling properties of this great brush...mine would be considered like a D4 because of the 9 rows and it works like a charm. I had the same Goody brush years ago when I was a new natural but spilled nail polish all in it and had to buy another one. The first pic is the d4, the second pic is my Goody...

You know how when your hair's really thick and your brushing it and your brush sort of pops out of your hand when you get to a little tangle or a thick clump of hair? :drunk: that's the problem i was having with lighter brushes so i bought the D5 because it's nice and heavy. it's perfect for me.

i also have the D83 which is a straight hair staple. i love it for those occasions when i blowdry and flatiron.

the key is not to try and detangle alot of hair at one time, that's just asking for pain, grief and hair-in-brush syndrome. remember to detangle in small sections :yep:

I have the one with the 7 rows, not sure which one it is, but I have a pic in my kodak album. Would not do my hair without it!!!!

I use the D31 Freeflow about once a week. It has wider teeth and is more gentle on my hair. I use the D3 every other month or so when I get the knots on my ends from shed hair.

I use the D3 once a week to detangle right before I do twists. I bought mine at Sally's. I have a Sally's card so I bought it for $7.49. It's $8.99 without the card. :yep: At Trade Secret it's $12.99. :nono:

Not every Sally's has Denmans. The first Sally's I checked didn't have any, so I went to another one a few miles away.

I also have this model; but use primarily for styling (wrapping); wig detangling.

I think that I would like to have a D3 or a smaller model Denman in the arsenal though...

I use the D3 and it's great. I want to try the D4 from looking at the link listed in this thread.

I have the D3 and I love it. It smooths out my new growth (I have about 3 or 4 inches of new growth) and makes it lay really flat when I wear a ponytail. I don't even use gel anymore, a little carrot oil cream and my hair is slick and smooth.

The D3 really helps to detangle my hair. I only use it when my hair is saturated with conditioner. I was looking for the Goody one before I bought the Denman, but I couldn't find it at the time. Now I see them everywhere....

Where do you buy a Denman? I've looked and asked at Sally's and they did not know what I was talking about.

Are there any other BSS in your area besides Sally's? Check there. Oh, I've also seen them at Walgreens. Not the actual Denman name but ones that look just like them. Someone above posted that they have one similar and loves it.

I have a D3 that I purchased from Sally's. Another location may carry it. Try calling around. They have them listed on their website as 'in stores only'. Good luck!

I just brought one this week. I got a D3 from sally's..i did not realize that there were so many types.

I have a D5 and I love it but it dosen't detangle well at all:nono:. It actually pulls and tugs my hair. I have to detangle first before I use it. I only use it as a styler for wash n'go's to create ringlet curls. It's perfect for that use.
