Hello ladies...

Check this out and let me know what you think...

http://www.wcyh.org.uk/beauty/hair/growing-black-hair/

I'm a newbie, and after perusing lchf for the past couple of weeks, I was a little surprised to see this. Articles like this one are a part of the reason why I gave up on ever having long hair back in my teenage days. But, thanks to you all, I am determined give it a go again!

This is my first post, but you'll be hearing more from me soon...thanks!

Take about blood boiling! What type of bull**** is that!? I could only get to the third paragraph. I'm glad you found us! Some people.....

This is outrageous and enlightening....I'm looking for the "Contact Us" button on their webpage...I have a lot to get off my mind!!!!

Say What??!!

I have never heard such a large load of B S in my life!

Whatever. If people actually read that crap and believe it, I feel sorry for them!!

Ditto to the above statements. Honestly, I thought the same thing untill I found this site. I want to tell them something too and I hardly have any hair.:nono: I didn't think it was possible untill I saw all the full heads of hair here. My hair has grown a lot since I started taking advice from you ladies. Thank you.

"If you want long hair, you have to get extensions. The choice to wear extensions is one of personal style but, without extensions, a black woman will never be able to throw her hair around like Beyonce. "

Wow....

Wow

WOW

Has to be some kind of joke. Alot of people believe that black people cant grow, but those people dont usually know anything about hair---this person seems to because their talking about how much hair grows a month, growth cycles, and transitioning.
To me, it seems like an article to mislead people, or some kind of joke.

"...People of African descent tend to have shorter growing cycles for their hair, usually only about three years. At 1/2 inch per month, your hair can only get so long in three years. Luxurious hair that falls half-way down the back takes at least five years to grow."

:lachen:Laughing at the bolded! That make about 18" or so without trims, on some people that would be halfway down their back! One more reason why I am very glad to have found LHCF.

What bothers me is that this article is trying to be presented as fact.:perplexed As if there's some scientific evidence behind it. Not cool.:nono:

I actually saw this bogus article last week when I did a search. LMAO...can't get heated because it is just too ridiculous. Although there is taint of racism I do believe...placing people in an inferior position based on assumed stereotypes.
Its on a similar vein to the idea of genetic predisposition. But if the authors bothered to look beyond their noses they world notice that there are many black women with swanging hair.
Pity them and hope their readers do their own research.
:lachen::lachen::lachen:

It's a waste of energy to worry about whoever wrote this article. They are obviously clueless - though they may try to act like they are knowledgable:rolleyes:. It appears that whoever wrote this is a part of some consulting company, and they must not be too confident in what they are saying because they sure do make it difficult for someone who disputes what they are saying to actually contact them directly or to post a retort on their website.

If anyone is really bothered by this just take some time to look around this site, look at all the fotki's out there - what will you see??? Long beautiful hair on beautiful black women - hair of all textures:grin:!!! And after you're done looking at all those gorgeous pictures - know in your heart that that article writer - whomever he or she may be - is a COMPLETE imbecile:lachen:!

:lachen:I CAN'T stop laughing... wow wow... misconceptions, stereotypes, no evidence, data, was presented no graphs, basically pseudo science! Please ladies lets educate ourselves. we know this is BS! :drunk:

"African hair is hard to care for. For women of African descent, hair care may be something of a life-long struggle."
"For people of African descent, hair is a constant project.":lachen::lachen::lachen::lachen:

ok so the tab with Hair Care for Black Hair is just as hilarious and ignorant. Here is what I found for the contact for those interested:

Charismedia GmbH & Co GC

thank goodness there is no option to leave feedback comes....boy the stuff that I was about to post there....some one hold me back:lachen:....that is some bull....the sad part is that someone might actually find that website and take that nonsense to the true....:perplexed

How ridiculous. First they start of saying long hair is impossible then the last paragraph talks about wearing dreads to grow long hair. Make up your mind! Have you seen people with dreds? I've seen lots of people with dreds with hair down to they butts, men and women. So right there is a contradiction.
