Does Anyone else's Shikakai Bar smell like piss?

OMG...I havent used this on my own hair yet. But I was washing my mothers hair with it, and although her own hair didnt smell like urine. When I sat it down in a zip lock bag, I was like wow, I really need to clean my bathroom, then I realized the smell was coming from the kitchen (which by the way we dont urine in) and the smell was everywhere. Once I moved the bar upstairs, my upstairs started to smell. Is there a certain way I am supposed to store this bar??? Or am I the only one tripping?

Ehhh, no, my bar doesn't smell like urin at all.
It has a... pleasant, non-currylike smell that disapears after rinsing.
Not strong at all.

My bar rinsed out of my hair fine but stunk up the bathroom I left it sitting inerplexed After I finished scrubbing up the pink residue I wrapped the bar up and tossed it so I'm not sure how to store it. An air tight/ziploc bag should work.

I too realized that every room I left it in..I stunk up the place. But 2 dollars dont come easy...so I'm gonna hold onto it. Especially, since I havent tried it on my own hair yet. Which I will today, and keep yall posted.

Yes, its smells like a urinal! Store it in plastic. Rinses clean though

It does have a distinct smell, but it's nothing like "piss". It actually smells more like cheap perfume, though it rinses without a smell. I leave mine in an open container. It does not smell up my room.

No, your not tripping. it smells just like urine. I put mine in a soap box I purchased for .50 @ Walmart. This completely took the smell away.

I wouldn't say it smells like urine but I agree it does smell like some strong cheap perfume!!! I got the Swatstick brand.....

whoo...as soon as I got the package in the mail, I could smell it through the package....then when I opened it up, the scent smacked me in the nose like whoa!

I used it once b/c I thoght that I should still give it a try, but I was not impressed and the scent was waaay too stong ..very overpowering! I left it in the bathroom in an open soap dish and I could smell it everytime I entered the bathroom....

So I threw it out...I really wanted to like it though...but I will be sticking to my ayurvedic powders from now on......

Mine smells like cheap perfume too. When I first used it, I left it out in the bathroom and came home and was like "what's that smell funkin up the place." I figured it out with the quickness and I now keep it wrapped in a plastic sandwich bag and then store it in a plastic soap container that I bought for $1.

LOL!!! Mine also smelles like cheap perfume, and that order lingered wherever the bar was and I just couldn't handle it so I throwed that sucka away!! The smell just makes me sick!!!!

The Swastik brand stinks to me also. It smells of a strong perfume and anunderscent of something worse than what you said. I bought 3 bars and hate to throw them away. I was afraid my hair would stink too. I prefer the raisin/prune scent of the powder. Guess you just cant win with the smell of Shikakai.

Mine smells like piss and cheap perfume. And it is strong! I have tucked away in a travel soap dish which eliminates the smell. I wish I would have heard about this issue before I bought it.

I use Swastik also. I thought it smelled like old school lye soap. One day someone came over while I was washing and said it smelled like pee. But the smell does not linger in my hair, thank goodness. I do keep mine in a plastic travel box, but just to distinguish it from the bath soap so people won't bathe with it.

I tried Swastik once and did not like it. It smelled like old cheap soap and my hair did not feel clean, soft or anything with it.

I clarified and went back to what I know works. Good old sulfate free moisturizing shampoo.

I threw it out. erplexed

It was my first time using it tonight. I washed my hair out good, but I can still smell it now with my rollerset. I hope it won't smell like this when my hair gets dry.

Yup... its the craziest thing too cause it doesn't make your hair smell like that.
