Yeah, I know that there are probably 7945925879347587949 threads about this, but the search feature isn't working. :ohwell:

I'm only 9 weeks post, but I'm having a harder time than usual detangling for my rollersets, no matter what I do.

Whatever you ladies suggest, I will drive to get it, order it, or WHATEVER so my next wash won't be as difficult as my last. It took me almost an hour to rollerset because of the tangles and NG (it usually takes me about 20 mins).

TIA

for me the cheap conditioners work especially well. i love vo5 silky experiences / moisture milks. all of them add a great amount of slip, and when i've got a lot of new growth (like right now :perplexed) i rinse it through my hair as a last step before getting out of the shower.

Herbal Essences None of Your Frizziness!! I saturate my hair, especially toward the roots, in sections (after deep conditioning) and my hair detangles like no joke. In fact, I just used it today before I rollerset and I am nine weeks post + 1/2 texlaxed + 1/2 bone straight so my hair loves to get tangled. It also leaves me with slip when I get out of the shower. My hair also responds well to conditioners of a thicker consistency like this one. (ie Joico and Keracare Humecto do not work miracles for detangling my hair so if they work for you then your hair might respond to a different type of conditioner)

I also noticed that its not enough if I just detangle with a shower comb and then hop out and try to use a small toothed comb to rollerset. I have to detangle each section with a shower comb and a medium toothed comb while in the shower.

Hope that helps!

The combo of pre-pooing with cholesterol/coconut oil & DCing with CPR/Moisture Plus gives me the best slip EVER! I don't shampoo, just CW with the pre-poo.

Try it, you might like it :)

HTH!

HE Dangerously Straight is good. Also, ORS Replenishing and Joico Silk Result. And adding a little SAA seems to help me too. :yep:

BioInfusion Conditioning Balm (its a Walgreens brand). Even at 10 weeks post, I can still comb out well (in the shower under running water) with very little shedding or breakage. It has been a lifesaver for stretching!

Yup you.

And Bb. Alojoba Conditioner, Paul Mitchell The Detangler. Komaza Care Conditioner, too.

Silicon Mix and Elucence are great conditioners to use when stretching relaxer.
Great slip and moisture.

Co-signing on the ORS Replenishing. :yep:

I'm 17 weeks post and if i DC with this, I can detangle and rollerset my hair in 25 mins.

Any other conditioner requires an extra 15-20 mins with cursing just to detangle.

ORS Replenishing Conditioner... Best results are when I cowash (Suave Humectant or HE Hello Hydration), then DC with ORS Replenishing Conditioner (mixed with Coconut Oil) and detangle in the shower while rinsing out DC.

Cowboy magic diluted with water works wonders for my daughters tangles. Tresseme moisture rich works wonders for me.

Giovanni Direct Smooth as Silk Deeper Conditioner. That condish has more slip than anything I've ever used in my LIFE. And I'm natural..so if it gives me and my coily hair slip, I KNOW a relaxed head will get plenty! It's my fave!

Kirkland - no joke, Costco Brand conditioner
I have used this a few times now after leaving my hair in flat twists for a week at a time (I am using wigs). I use it on dry hair to detangle before washing.
