for co-washing and leave-ins is anyone actually using the shampoos? Are they any good?

I think I saw in one of the other threads that one or two people used the shampoo?

I would also like to know the answer to this as well though. I'm always on the lookout for a good shampoo since I think most are mediocre.

I for one likely dont plan on or will ever use the shampoos because they have harsh drying cleansers: Ammonium lauryl sulfate and ammonium laureth sulfate. Both of them.... Just like the Pantene shampoos. It's just not worth it to me - lol no wonder they probably make their conditioners so moisturizing :lachen:.

In any case in my opinion there are just other shampoos out there that are better and focus on moisturizing the hair. For me it's Nexxus Therappe and if I run out of it I have Always Moisturizing Shampoo for a back up.

I completely agree ... which is why I won't use any of the HE shampoos either. Besides, I only use shampoo once a week, and that's usually to clarify. The rest of the week, I'm co-washing, so I'm always on the look out for moisturizing conditioners.

I'm not really big on shampoo so I didn't buy it when I bought the conditioner and leave in the other day. I've used HE shampoos in the past when I was relaxed with no problem though. All SLS shampoos are not as harsh as we think. I have a L'oreal Vive one that I've been using and it does not leave my hair with that stripped feeling afterwards (Therappe did but not as bad as some other shampoos). When I looked at the ingredients it had SLS too. It said it was specifically for dry chemical treated hair so I'm guessing that's why it was extra moisturizing. My hair was so soft afterwards. I was suprised. I think you might just have to try one and see yourself. I'd try the LTR, NYF or Break's Over though since they are the most moisturizing out of all the new HE lines.

Yeah thanks Glamazon for the post that listed that info on the HE conditioners. I think that was you that put up their chart from most to least moisturizing. Saw it at their site too and it was informative in choosing the best line for my hair.

For me SLS isnt the problem, my hair doesnt seem to react badly to SLS. It's the 2 ALS's that it likes to go a little crazy over. I do use poo when I wash 2x a week right now since I have products w/ a lot of cones so for me it's a big determining factor. For the most part the poo's that I use now only have SLS in it. I dont cut my shampoo washes down to 1x a week until I'm midway into a stretch and my NG starts screaming at me for trying to pretend they're like my relaxed strands. At that time, I add 2 cowashes during the week, lol. Then they shut up.

Sorry but I disagree...I used HE both the LTR & HH and I was surprisingly HAPPY with the results! I used the LTR Con & mixed it with HH Moisturizing Con as a DC. After blow drying, my hair was soooooooo moisturized, no tangling and there was no breakage. I have 4b texturized hair type.

IMO...I would recommend trying HE products:grin: That's what's LHCF is all about! Trying new things and what works best for you.

You used the shampoo's mixed together?

Yeah I totally agree with you on this one, the conditioners are off the hook! Are you kidding me, these babies are permanent fixtures in my arsenal. I DC with them too now from time to time.

But we are talkin the shampoos now, lol. Did you try the poo's how were they for you? What I used to notice with the Pantene poo's that have similar ingredients to the HE poo's is that they leave my hair feeling squeaky clean afterwards... I learned years ago (on Oprah ) that this is not a good thing, it means you've now stripped the hair.

We're talking about the shampoos here. A lot of us already use the conditioners and completely love them.

I tried the hello hydration poo and it was extremely drying (lucky for me I only had the trial size) but for some reason, their conditioners work really well.

I bought the LTR poo along with the con and leave-in, and I have been pleased with it. My hair hasn't felt overly dry or stripped. However, I also try to make sure and only use shampoo only on my scalp and not so much on my hair, so maybe that helps with the stripped feeling. Diluting the poo may help as well. HTH!!

Yeah that was me... I think with shampoos you just have to try them out because they're all different. And more expensive ones aren't neccesarily better either. I had some Keracare samples from my stylist when I was relaxed and one of those shampoos did a number on my hair. :nono: There were 2 shampoos and a few other things in the kit. I think one was moisturizing and the other was for dry itchy scalp but you were supposed to lather with one first and then the other one then condition. That one shampoo left my hair hard, dry and tangly. It was a mess. I try to stay away from shampoos that make my hair feel like that. The stylist always complains about my mom's hair being tangly when she does it but I think it's that shampoo. When I washed my moms hair for her once over the summer I didn't have a problem with tangles.

ETA: I've also found that the shampoos I didn't like in my hair dried the skin on my face out terribly after washing in the shower. And they made my nose burn. :nono:

I use HE-Conditioners and shampoos -both work - But no conditioner I have used so far , tops HE conditioners for Con-washing

thats so backwards the curly line=least moisturizing? Where did u see this chart?:drunk:

It's on their website under FAQS. I also posted it in a thread here last week sometime. The Break's Over is the most moisturizing. Then None of Your Frizziness and LTR. Then I think it's Hello Hydration and Totally Twisted. Body Envy was the least moisturizing. Color Me Happy was towards the low end too.

Both the HH & LTR poos worked on my hair. It did not overdry, but my hair was squeaky clean afterwards.

any opinions on the Totally Twisted curly line?

I have tried the Totally Twisted Conditioner and I like it, like it best as a detangler, actually. In fact, when I pit it against Oyin Honey Hemp, Oyin Juices and Berries, Karen's Body Beautiful Hair Milk, pure castor oil, pure coconut oil, a 50/50 mix of castor and coconut oil, V05 Moisture Milks, and shealoe from FNWL, it was the winner for detangling.

As for their other products, I've only tried the Hello Hydration 2-in-1 over a friend's house and I hated it. The Totally Twisted, as a conditioner, is not bad, I guess.

I am just about to post a Big Hit with the LTR poo and con.

I just used the poo on my daughters 4 a/b fine hair. For al ong time i could not find a poo that did not leave her hair really dry and stripped feeling. This poo is a big keeper and the con. Her scarf came off last night. So even though i had detangled her hair before putting on her scarf. The sheets dried out her hair and tangeld it all up. I was able to comb through her tangles with very little problem. The wash out was even better. Her hair felt soft after. I wish i had the leave in cause i just know it would have rounded out the 3 some very nicely.

She is deep conditioning for 1 hour with half a ors pack and Kenra moist con. The LTR combo left her hair tangle free and very easy to divide and apply the ors and kenra. I wash her hair every 2 weeks and her shed hairs where not a problem.

You guys should get the poo and try it. I have also the hello poo and that one i don't like. The LTR will replace the hello line.

I want to mix the conditioners also. I have the Dangerous and frizzness conds. I want to mix the frizzness and LTR conditioners and see how her hair likes that.
I have not used it on my hair yet. But i can't wait till next weekend to try it.

DD is 100% natural also.
