When rollersetting should you seal the ends?

no, i don't think so...if you wet each section before rolling, the ends should cling to the roller and dry nice and straight.

When I started getting my hair set in the 80's, my beautician always used end papers. The ends were always nice and straight and I could always tell when my hair was drying bc the paper started to crinkle and make noise! :lachen: Now that I set my hair myself, sometimes I use end papers and sometimes I don't. I usually use them when I use mesh rollers for speedy drying. As long as my hair is dripping wet on magnetic rollers, I really don't think it matters.

Or....were you talking about some kind of product? 'Cause I use a silk amino gel to seal moisture and protect from heat on my ends and hair when I rollerset.

i always apply castor oil to my ends before rolling them up. For some reason it keeps them extra smooth and intact when i'm finished drying.

Water only as said earlier it should cling to the roller. I apply my leave-in and silken seal serum before roller setting. Once my set is dry I apply KeraCare creme hairdress (or a moisterizer of your choice) to my ends only - add coconut oil and wrap.

I just use the leave in, but have been using chi silk/castor oil combo to seal when I feel the ends are close to needing a trim. It helps a great deal :)

I use Silk 'n Curl Heat Protect Curl Polish. It's made by Smooth 'n Shine Polishing and it's in a pink clear bottle. I buy it at my SuperTarget. I think it's the knock-off of ProSilk. It does have some cones it it, but when I roller set, it seals the moisture in for me as opposed to keeping it out. I only use about a pea sized amount for all my ends.
