I've checked a few bss in my area, and I can't find it. Does anyone know where I can find it in NYC? Is there another brand like it? I really don't want to order it online, but I might have to if I can't find it locally.

I'm doing a touch up next week, and I want an easier way to apply base. I want to try something other than petroleum jelly, and oil is too runny. Any reviews or tips?

i use this stuff!

don't let the pink color fool you, it doesn't smell pretty. it has this really odd smell to it... kind of like calamine lotion / sulfur?

but it worked great for my last relaxer. i based my entire scalp, and slathered this stuff on my previously relaxed hair, and it protected me very well. i barely burned at all.

i'd use it again.

Didn't know about the smell, but I think I can get pass that if it works well. Good to know it protects previously relaxed hair also (then I won't have to use cheapie conditioner).

Thanks Pookie!

Any more reviews? alternate brands in a similar bottle?

Does any NYC ladies remember seeing this in their bss?

ETA: Never mind. :ohwell:

I searched old threads; and I think I'll mix oil and petroleum jelly in a bowl, heat it up, and pour it in an applicator bottle like Priestess mentioned in an old thread.

Hmmm... maybe I should pour some of Africa's Best oil in a bowl and mix it with a little Vaseline and apply that mixture to my scalp with a nozzle applicator bottle. That would definitely eliminate a step with me trying to part my hair and apply the Vaseline with my finger. :brainy:
