So is APL not recognized as a "real" hair length?

im sure it is... but people over at the long hair community usually breeze right past it, so it's not all that significant to them :ohwell:

lucky ladies :ohwell::ohwell::ohwell::ohwell:

Those have GOT to be part of a costume.....just GOT to be...look at the feet! :lachen:I love Wonderlywroughte's hair, too. Hmm. Looking at these pics, I just know when I get to BSL, I'm gonna have some serious hair-orexia! :lachen:

:lachen: :lachen:

I could so rock those pants ya'll!
Hmmmhmmm, if you spot a short black woman with APL hair walking down the street in some fluffy footie pjs, it's me!

What do you think about this quote taken from the site:

The other hair lengths are much more unusual and require special family genes that will allow hair to grow to this length without falling out. This is called terminal length. Even if you want to grow longer than classic length, if its not in your genes, it won't be possible.

was wondering if anyone was gonna mention that. i would like to know too.

It might be true. I have rarely seen anyone with hair longer than say classic length or upper thigh length. And the ones I have seen are probably not more than 4-5 people in my whole life...

Of course in the 19:th century and further back, it was more common when people didn't cut their hair so often and usually wore it up every single day. But even then, there are these old pictures of women with extremely long hair which indicates it wasn't that common even then with floor length hair etc...

Scroll down and look at the old pictures of women with long hair

Also, google the Sutherland Sisters, they had really long wavy hair.

As much as I love long hair, I don't want to perform at a circus with my hair or end up in Guinness book of records aka become a freak...:spinning:

Flowerhair, do you remember someone posting the Black twins with ankle or floor length hair? It was probably back in '04. I remember that it was a story in Ebony or Jet magazine in the 60s or 70s. I've tried to find those pictures again without luck.

Extreme lengths are also a rarety because people generally cut their hair before it gets past SL, APL, or BSL. How many women really and truly decide to let their hair grow to terminal length?

No offense to anyone here, but those pictures of the super long hair kinda freaked me out. It just looks un-natural (not like weave just bizarre) and strange.

I have nothing to worry about tho cause I'll never make it there! haha :lachen:

:lachen:He looks like Elmo from the waist down!

I can't laugh....I have footie pj's too but I'd never take a pic in them.

No, I don't, but I would love to see that! If anyone knows what you're talking about, please post the pictures :) Wow!
