This dryer is great for roller sets right? If I only use my hood for DC then this aint worth it, no?

No, I would not invest in a Pibbs for DC. I've been using a foil conditioning cap for DC. Maybe that will work for you?

Our Pibbs will pay for itself fast since it's for me and my husband. He has locks and never wants to sit at the salon to dry for more than 10 minutes. He's excited that he can come home to dry.

Well to quote MtAiryHoney:

"Keep in mind that the Pibbs is not just for rollersets. It can also be used for DCs, Hot Oil treatments, braidouts, wraps, bantu knot drying, drying your hair that you wet and slicked down into a ponytail, and God knows what else- it's not just for rollersets. You ever heard of dressing for the job you want, not the job you have?? Well, get the tools for the hair you want (and WILL get), not for the length you have- even though this is beneficial to whatever length you have. Hope this helps your decision:yep:"

I see you're struggling not to give in, NL. Just do it, treat yourself. We know you gettin' all that BT money:lachen::lachen:.

The Pibbs is worth it, I have the 512 and compared to my table top it is the Lexus of dryers. Yes I heard the 514 is better, but I use what I know; under my table top 1 1/2 hour to dry, under my 512 it is only 45 minutes. So man if the 514 is stronger maybe 30 minutes or less.

Yes to all it is worth it!!! I also use it to dry my daughters hair in the cold months, I turn it down low and she will sit there until her hair is dry. Plus she thinks it cool to be like mom.

After hearing all these GOOD things about Pibbs 514, I am so temped to forget about getting furiture for my apartment and get me a PIBBS 514. But how I would explain that to my parents when their come to visit?

"Hi mom and dad, i was not able to purcahse furiture for my apartment with the Xmas money that you all give me........but i was able to buy the the hottest hair dryer on the market right now.......PIBBS 514!!! What you all think?:hammer::swearing::whip:

Well I have the 514 and I'm happier than Miss J (from Next Top Model) in Boystown!! I love my Pibbs!! I was nervous at first when I ordered it, but let me tell you, I am so happy that I conquered that fear! This was the best investment I've made! I have thick hair w/ lots of NG and my hair dried in 25 minutes when set on 60, now tell me that ain't great... shoot, nuff said!

Do you have a link to the foil conditioning cap you are referring to?

Keen, i never heard of the conditioning cap with gel and not being able to plug in....thats new too me!

But anywho, i was thinking about getting one of these, but after hearing so much good things about pibbs 514, i took a step back and told myself if am going to buy PIBBS 514 it better be able to DC my hair as well as drying it.

So i decided not to buy the conditioning cap and put my money towards PIBBS 514 for the Spring.

No, no link but I knew there was a reason a little voice told me not to trash the packaging from at least a month ago.

Mine is a "self warming" gold cholesterol processing cap by Cristina. It was $1.29 at the BSS.

I recently bought a Pibbs so I'm glad that I did not spend more than $1.29 on the self warming cap.
