So, I bought a quick weave in december for $50. It is supposed to be human hair. It wore it and it looked so cute for about 2-3 weeks. I went out of town so I just wore it without taking it out. I decided to wash it and it went to hell. I washed it and let it air dry but the tangles were out of this world. I got them out but the hair looks like a rats nest to me. This was supposed to be my protective style cuz i dont want to spend money on the full sew in. Any tips to get my quick weave in order? It used to have spiral curls but not any more. :perplexed

I am afraid I am gonna jack up my hairs progress with this quick weave.

Did you use wig shampoo? Go to Walmart, get Sleek and Shine 60 second Hair Repair, that should take care of the tangles. Go to BHM for instructions.

I would try to condition it after you wash it....I love silk elements on my weave hair, also use a wig brush to untagle the hair instead of a regular comb. When I wash my cap wig I leave them on the stand and let the water run on it ( i do it in the tub) I rub it in the direction of the style and rinse, apply conditioner, rub, then rinse comb and put it under the dryer. HTH!

I wear them until they look ratty to me, then I buy a new one. I think that when you try to wash them and style them, they never look as good as when you bought them. I buy synthetic ones (they're just as good) for like $20 a pop. That way, when they get ratty, I'm not out of money like that. Also, with the curly ones, I finger comb with some sheen stuff sprayed on my hands.

I agree with MtAiryHoney. That's why I stopped buying human all the time. I only buy human if I can find a good deal on it and it's a wig I really like. I was spending too much money trying to wear it everyday and then it got weave poof or the style would fall. I'm not trying to recurl and restyle. It was a waste of $$ when I can get the same style any length in synthetic for $20. And the style won't budge in the shower, in the rain, nothing. I usually buy a $20 synthetic wig, wear it as long as I can, then throw it out and get a new one. I've gotten my $20 worth by then.

I rarely wash my wigs because I don't keep them that long. But If you're gonna wash a wig you need a mild shampoo. Nothing with SLS because it's gonna dry it out (especially human hair). Just fill the sink up and kind of swirl it around in there. Don't scrunch it because it'll tangle. Comb through it before you wash it and then let it airdry. Also for the curly wigs, there is a mousse you can get called Wet N Wavy mousse that will make the curls bounce back. It works on human hair too.

i would reroll it. i had to detangle my half wig this weekend and it was a dried up mess afterwards. i took a little chi silk infusion and fingered it throughout. then took medium sections and rolled it (dry) and let it sit until i was ready to wear it. it was as good as new

yall have some great ideas.....i think i have revived my half wig!

its wavy now instead of spiral curls but it looks way better than it was doing before....
