Besides putting some protective coating on my hair like oil or con. I have about 1 to 2 inches of new growth in some places and my hair tends to tangle and get matted after just 2 days. What can I do to make sure the stylist doesnt rip through my hair? I know I have to wait bet 4-7 days after co wash or washing to do my relaxer and I wanted to get it done on 1/9 or 1/10 help please:perplexed

It would probably be helpful if you detangle it the day before your relaxer. If you find that the stylist is being too rough, speak up.

I am 14weeks post and I plan to detangle right before getting my hair done. But my hairdresser is so gentle, I don't really have to do that though

thanks ladies I am a little scared but I will detangle with my fingers before going to my stylist and after the thread on dominican stylists I will definitely make sure I dont get it blowdried (haven't bd my hair in about a year:grin:) I will post my pics in my photo gallery since I don't have a fotki yet. hhg

I usually wait 16 weeks before a touchup and what I do to detangle is to spray Scurl and finger comb...

4-7 days after co wash or washing to do my relaxer ?

Really?

Wow!

Why is that?

well it says dont wash your hair prior to relaxing because your scalp will be too clean or something...I dunno when I used to relax, I would try to have 3 days in between, but usually it would be 15 hours or so. I guess cw it the day before but dont disturb your scalp too much so you can stil have protective oils
