I deep condition with ORS. I know many people believe that it's too thick and would cause the braids to slip out but it doesen't. My braider ties a knot at the ends. I never have problems with loose braids. My braids only comes out when I am ready to remove them. My hair feels so healthy and soft after doing this.![]()
You can but I personally would'nt recommend putting lots of oils, grease, and thick creams in the hair while in braids because it causes lots of buildup and matting. I would wash the hair, then add your braid spray and leave in conditioner and then sit under the dryer. Rinse then add your leave in and braid spray again. Growafrohairlong.com has a full section on how you can wash and condition your braids. HTH![]()
yesssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss...treat ur braided hair as you would do your loose hair with the exception of hardcore protein treatments![]()

What she said.Here's my procedure...
1. I put 1 capful of poo in an empty 16oz bottle, add a little water and shake it until it's smooth and foamy.
2. Fill the bottle with water. I brought a 69 cent funnel from walmart that I keep in the shower along with 2 empty water bottles (one for poo and one for conditioner).
3. I put that over my scalp and squeeze down the length.
4. After shampoo'g, rinse and add 2-3 cap fulls of conditioner with water
5. Pour the conditioner-water over my hair avoiding my scalp
6.Wring hair out as much as possible and put it in a loose ponytail, then wrap that into a bun.
7. Put a grocery store bag (it probably won't all fit in a plastic shower cap) and sit under the dry for 20 minutes (or however long you usually DC).
8. Rinse.
9. Get back under the dryer for 10 minutes just so that it's not dripping wet.
10. Sponge on another leave-in (Eqyss Avocado Mist or Rehydrant)
11. Apply my homemade red palm cream to any exposed hairs. Usually the roots (after a few weeks of growth) and over the top to get any little hair sticking out of the braids).
12. Every couple days, melt some more moisturizer, put it in an empty squirt bottle and saturate my braids.
