I had this relaxer at the salon yesterday for the first time. And i ALWAYS burn but this did not burn at all!:grin: and my hair is straight and shiny but not that thin flat stuck to the scalp look .

I have used affirm regular strength lye relaxer in the past and hated it. my hair would be shiny but it would be too straight and thin looking and burned like heck.

I also am going to a different salon so maybe their application method was better and that helped with the process as well.

the first pic is where i left the salon with it curly. but i didn't like how it looked so short from the front so i ended up straightened out some. 2nd pic is the next day, i just ran my fingers thru and thru on a head band.

So, i'm giving affirm another try. hopefully this time around will be different bc i am stretching and using the mild.

Your hair looks great! I'm in search of a mild relaxer that will not burn...my scalp is so sensitive.

Your hair looks really pretty and shiny. I love the curlsh

Im really loving that first pic with the tight curls. Its gorgeous!

thanks! the curls were cute. But i just didn't think it was flattering to my face from the front bc it seemed so short. by the time i straightened it to go out it looked more like a regular roller set.

Maybe one day i can grow it long enough to where i can wear a curly set that won't seem so short:yep:

I honestly didn't think there would be that big of a difference in terms of burning between the mild and the regular bc its all still sodium hydroxide. So I was really shocked when it didnt burn. I sweated some the day before (heat on too high while sleep) and i also scratched some as well.

the girl who did my relaxer seemed to do a good job of keeping it off my scalp as much as possible. and also not letting the comb teeth scrape my scalp like some do.
