just trying to see which Flatirons is best for natural 4's without giving the raggedy, crunchy ends look?
Which iron do u use to get that sleek, smooth , freshly timmed, out of the salon look?

I just tried the maxiglide and it is the 1st flat iron to get my ends straight. Not too happy w/the results at my roots but I think I have too much product in my hair.

I usually relax every 6 months and the maxiglide gets my roots pretty straight.

Well lemme see, I have a CHI, FHI, and maxiglide. The maxiglide is the best at getting our hair type stick straight from root to tip...however, I feel that constant use would damage the hair. The FHI is great at getting the hair really straight, but since my ends are relaxed, I donno how it would work on virgin ends. The FHI really gets to the roots as well. After using the FHI, my hair doesn't "feel" heat processed/damaged. The CHI was ok, but my hair always felt rough and fried after using it. My vote goes to the FHI if you want to flat iron often, and the maxiglide if you flatiron just a few times a year.

Oh, 3yrs ago, I also tried the Sedu on my blownout hair and it wasn't all that for our hair type. I can see it doing great things for 3s and below though.

I've tried both Maxiglide and Sedu, I prefer Sedu hands down. Not just because of how well it straightens, but also because it's less likely to damage your hair.

I have a sedu and a maxiglide. The Sedu does absolutely nothing for my 4a kind of coarse hair. NUTTIN!!! The Maxiglide has been my savior since day one. I think I would still be perming if not for the maxiglide.

I think it's more about the technique and not so much the iron. My stylist uses a no name ceramic iron and my ends come out fine.

it already has the "comb" (those little teeth) inside of the iron. this thin section of hair is the perfect size for maxigliding

of course you do NOT squeeze the plates together like a regular iron.

I used to use the comb method but my hair has gotten longer and it is very hard to do on my own except for in the very front of my head.

i tried the MG but the plates are too large for my short hair so i couldnt quite get to the roots.

I feel like I have more control of my comb when it comes to snags/pulling. When I purchased my CHI, initially I was going to buy the MaxiGlide, the sales rep told me that out of all the BBB personal items, it was almost always brought back. I went back home and did my research and decided on the CHI.

I have had two other rather expensive flat-irons over the last three years and the only one that got my ends straight was the MaxiGlide, the others left my ends so frizzy, I thought I just had horrible split-ends.

My stylist uses an FHI on my hair, and I am THIS CLOSE to buying one for myself. I swear, when she uses that FHI on my head my hair ends up coming out BONE STRAIGHT!

I use a solia and I love it!!!! It gets my hair sooo straight, sleek, and shiny! It is reasonably priced (lower than chi and sedu) and it has adjustable heat settings and heats up fast and evenly. The results are my avatar pic!!!! With previous flatirons I had a problems getting those ends straight, but the solia fixed all my problems!
