I'm lovin' everything Ayurvedic. Even started cleaning my face with oil and it works!!!

I'm growin' out my relaxer now and plan on going to a new salon in another month or so.

Would you feel comfortable taking your ayurvedic bar and asking your stylist to use it? Keep in mind that I'll be a new customer and it seems that most stylist are closed-minded to anything out of the norm.

I feel like if u're paying ur $ then the stylist should honor ur request. Does that mean that they'll like it? :nono: One way 2 look @ it is, she's charging u 4 a service that includes his/her products - the stylist is actually saving a little $ by using ur products instead. I hope that makes sense.

what ayurvedic bar are u using?

I understand, but it seems like most stylists think that your hair will only turn out perfect if they use THEIR shampoo. THEIR conditioner & all THEIR other products.

Yup- If I went to a Salon- Id bring my rinse. Im still too scared of my shikakai bar. Im afraid of a big tangled mess. Dagnambit. Imma try that soap bar today. If my hair tangles- you all will hear All about it!

You can go in already washed and detangled if you are not going for chemical services. I know Ive heard of people doing that before here

I probably wouldn't take my bar to the salon-only because if I started going back to a shop, I'd pick someone who used products I wanted on my hair.

Nappity-I tried the Shikakai bar yesterday-:nono::nono::nono:-STRA-RIPPED:nono: After being so excited to try it, I was so disappointed. I also tried the amla and ritha hair tea-STAAANNNKYYYY. I don't know what happened.

Hell to the naw! :nono: I was actually thinking about this earlier and I concluded that for now on if I choose to get my hair done...I'm Pre-Pooing, Washing with my Shikahai Bar/Rinse, Dc'ing, THEN airdrying by banding ON MY OWN. THEN I will go to my stylist for a flat iron ONLY. Girl you should already know these stylist are close minded and arrogant and they will talk mess for hours and not listen to you. :perplexed That's why I'm just gonna do the above....I'm not letting these stylists hinder the growth or health of my hair anymore! Sorry for the rant! :lachen:

My hair didnt tangle but it sure feels coated- I'm gonna rewash my hair with the brew. The bar soap lather will NEVER get to my scalp and the parts of my hair I did apply it on feel coated. Maybe its just me - but Im sticking to the AAA brew.
