Sooo, I'm thinking about locking up....

Anyone on here with locks? What's your regimen? I am also wondering if there is anyone who has locked their hair after it grew past shoulder length? One last question....has anyone had success with "unlocking"?

Just wanted to wish you luck. I recently kept in twists for a month and they started to look locish (is that a word?) and they were looking sooo pretty, I really liked them and for a minute thought about locing as well, but I know I'm not ready yet. But it was the first time I had ever even considered locing up. Have you looked at nappturality for advice on locs? If I recall, they have entire forum dedicated to locs.

I UNLOCKED. MINE WHERE IN FOR ALMOST 3YEARS. HAD TO CUT THE ENDS OFF AND START FROM THERE. ALSO MY HAAIR WAS VERY DRY. CHECK OUT MY FOTKI.

How did you do it! My sister wants her hair unlocked. Step by step , Please

I cut the ends off and washed and soaked my hair in conditioner and starting from the bottom with about an inch or 2 cut off i used a pen and a fork and slowly unravelled it took me so long prob 40min to do at first than i got faster in doing it. I go my Mom and sister to help I finished in a week maybe one and a half. I did that in april. So since than I have been getting my hair healthy and dusting all the dry split ends I finally feel like I have healthy hair. I do still have some mid shaft splits but only in the front. I had so many after I took the locks down. Hope this helps. If you have any more questions keep them coming.

I have been growing my Locs for 7yrs +....No such thing on my side as unlocking...there is only going BALD ...My Mom ask me every day to just hot comb my hair she wanna see it one time straight... I took one out just to let her try and comb it and it just shed into lil pieces...

It can be done. Mine where locked tight I never thought I could unlocked. But I tried one in the back just to see if I could and It worked. You just have to cut the ends off . And it will shed like crazy. I had bags full of shed hair by the time I was done. Also try it on wet hair loaded with conditioner and a regular writing pen and start from the bottom and slowly work your way up it will take like 40min to do the first one.
