It's funny. I ran across that same website about 3 days ago. Total ignorance. I just ignore it.

I don't care who uses what on their hair. I use MN now and if it gives me good growth, great. Don't care what other people think about it either. What works for me may not work for the next. I'm not going to lose any sleep over it nor what they think.

Whatever.

As stated before, many products have been used for other things then what they were origionally intended. There could be effects from mn even if you use it how it was intended it to be used.

That's true. But if your using MN for what is intended to do, and you get messed up, then you have a case, you can sue or whatever.

However, if you use strong stuff like MN and MTG for uses other than what they are intended for, and then you get messed up or sick or all you hair suddenly one day falls out, then there is no one you can blame, but yourself. You have no case.

Same with me, I use Pine Sol to wipe out stains out of my carpet. It works fine. But that doesnt' mean that I should make a solution and put it in my steamer and do the whole carpet and expect the same results.

All I'm saying is that, sometimes in our quest for long hair, we can go over board. And yes to each his own, but at the same time, you can't expect people not to question or comment on anybody using non-conventional methods, especially people that have no concern for our beauty or our hair anyway!

I for sure, am worried about my sistas on this board using MTG, stuff for horses:deadhorse: I'll admit it, I don't think it's safe to use. Long term problems are not worth short term results.

Oh, lol.

But if someone will put "vajayjay" cream on their scalp why not put horsey oil if it works on horses? (this doesn't have to be answered, im being silly :Clown:)

 The argument was that it was a horse product and not intended for human use. But I believe somebody contacted the makers of the product anad they said that it used to be marketed for humans before it became a horse product. And If I'm not mistaken they have actually made a human version now because so many people were buying the horse one. I'm also allergic to sulfur so that horsey oil wasn't going anywhere near me anyway.

Whatever happened to just washing or co-washing your hair, making sure it's moisturized, using protective styles and maybe taking a couple vitamins here and there, in addition to drinking lots of water and maybe a protein shake here and there?

What happened to simple hair care like that?

Well if it's sensitive enough to put on the vajayjay I would imagine it's sensitive enough for your scalp. But that horsey oil? I couldn't even bring myself to try that. :nono:

Right! if my girl can handle it, my skin better be able to handle it.

Even MTG - I don't think that it is only good for animals. Just look at the ingredients. People can relax ans color their hair and use lotions with possible carcinogenics, eat foods high in cholesterol, fat and sugar, etc but laugh at products like MN and MTG. I don't use either, but I don't see anything wrong with them at all. The MTG smell is the only thing I could never deal with! Nasty!

I think it is a given that people need to be doing that. But based on other comments folks have made about hair and length - people was to get there just that much faster. I heard someone say that APL was bald. Folks hearing stuff like that make them want to reach length goals faster. I personally am in no rush to reach my length goals so it is easier for me to be satisfied with average growth. But just like folks want to lose 15 pounds in 3 weeks, they want 2 inches of hair growth in a month.

That's true. Relaxers have the same chemical as Draino in them. But we put that on our head. And it has been proven that relaxers cause problems over time. They said it leaves a film over the brain after years of continued use. They saw it in autopsies. I don't think any of this stuff is as bad as a relaxer.

I don't use any growth aides or vitamins anymore. My hair is growing fine on it's own. I only tried the MN once when I was relaxed. But I was too lazy to keep it up. I let the vits go because I felt like I didn't need them. But if other people want to use them, then that's on them.

I don't know why but that statement is very funny to me. :lachen:

Some people have too much time on their hands. :ohwell: :perplexed :nono:

The comments are even more annoying.

I also recommend that you go to Google and do an image search with the words miconazole hair. Some of you and your children's pictures come up.

^^^ Oh my goodness!!!!! That is scary.

I have totally missed the MN movement though. I might try it just to try it.

Girl, I never knew that!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah... And also think about scab hair. Anything that can change the texture of your hair as it grows out of your head is dangerous. But we've been relaxing our hair for years and years. If you can do that, some horsey oil and vajayjay cream isn't going to hurt you. To the argument about MN and MTG possibly making your hair fall out - Hell, relaxers make your hair fall out right? Same thing for dyes. Especially if used improperly. It even happens sometimes when the products are applied properly. How is that any different?

I agree HoneyDew! We want results quick, quick, quick. BTW, instead of these APL and beyond sistas, you are one of my hair idols on this board. Simply because I see your progress coming from Neck Length hair to where you are now. And it's working for you. So thanks :cup:

i just bought some mn, after going back and forth with myself about the possible long term risks that may be involved. i don't want to end up with some sort of neurological disorder down the line. i just used it for the first time yesterday. the anti-fungal connection between the mn, mtg, and sulfur made me feel a little better, but i don't know if i will continue until i find out what exactly mn is and possible side effects of slapping it on my head.
i succumbed to the microwave effect of getting results fast. probably because i just BCed and am seriously lusting for a BAA by the summer. where is sisterslick? she can give us some insight!! somebody PM her!!!
