I bought a flat iron in order to smooth my roots along the hairline. I haven't tried it yet.

I do that it makes my hair more fluffy and lots of body. But I like my hair sleek and it still has bounce with flat ironing the roots and all the hair.

All I do is only flat iron the roots. The rest of my hair hasn't had direct heat on it for a VERY long time.
