Forgive me for I have sinned ladies!!! :nono:

I had an interview Wednesday (after BOMBING on one Monday), and I did not find out about it until Tuesday morning. At 16 weeks post, my hair is shall we say...in need of a little help. So....I flat ironed it. My hair has been SOOOOO dry ever since. My roller set even came out hard and brittle. I can't believe I used to flat iron DAILY:eek:.

Lesson learned...my hair does NOT like direct heat.

Man! I hate it when that happens to my hair, too! What did you DC with before flat ironing? I used coconut milk/lime treatment on Thursday, henna/coconut milk/honey mix on Friday followed with Pantene DC, then prepoo'd with the caramel treatment followed by Pantene DC. I airdried then used blow dryer a tiny bit, then used the FHI flat iron. My hair feels wonderful.

Are you going to spend some time DCing before Christmas?

I'm sorry it happened.....but what happened w/ that interview?? my fingers are crossed!

Try doing an oil rinse and see if it helps your hair. I think my hair is the opposite cause it seems to love heat :look:. I hope your hair gets better and I hope the interview was a success!!

I don't think the straightener could do that much damage alone, unless you had it on too high heat?

Did you not use heat protectant and DC your hair before and after? You could have fried your hair if you didn't protect it before you flatironed it.

Co-sign.

Direct heat isnt bad (about one or twice a month). Constant direct heat is however.
Moisturize before, during, and after is very important. When wrapping at night, wrap the hair, moisturize in the wrap and oil as well.

Direct heat now and then shouldnt make my the hair feel significantly different than what it is used to feeling.

What did you do before you flat ironed.....Did you wash and deep condition, what heat protectant did you use? Did you go over each section more than once?

Update ladies... I did everything that I KNEW was wrong. I flat ironed my hair dirty and without a heat protectant. It was really short notice and I panicked. There was nothing else I could do with my 16 week post hair, so I just grabbed the flat iron and started straightening.

As for the interview...I made it to the second phase of the process, so say a little prayer for me on the 7th. Don't worry...I'm getting texlaxed on 12/31!!!:drunk:
