PRODUCT JUNKIES!! 2008 Clean-out!

You don't have to admit it, but we all know most of us on this forum have WAYYY too many products!

It is almost 2008... I think its time for a cleanout of that product shelf, cupboard, spare room lol... or whatever

What products will you be getting rid of for 2008, and why?
Have you finally found your staple products after all that experimenting?

I just put a whole bunch of stuff I got from Sally's and never used and plan on exchanging them with hair accessories like headbands and magnetic rollers etc.

I'm getting rid of the Generic reconstructor, Dark and Lovely poo & Conditioner and a never used silk elements relaxer.

Im getting rid of my beloved Pantene range!! I love it still but I think I need a little protein which I dont get. My hair is doing well without protein but I used a teeny weeny protein poo and cond and my hair was better behvaed than usual.
And also Im not liking the price of it I want to save my money this year and Im refusing to spend anything more than £2.50 on anything (EXCEPT OF COURSE MY PHYTORELAXER!)! And also Im not going to buy anything if I have two bottles of poo or cond at home.
I did really well when I gave up but now its getting silly again!
So my new baby daddyand hubby are:

I love this stuff and so does my pocket and hair too!
I will be getting rid of it all...Ive got lots to work thru again but Im going to do it! Im too enbarrased to even open my wardrobe fully because I know how much stuff I have in there!
BUT I will keep my humectress for when I need an extra boost after my relaxer.
Im such a junkie its beyond ridiculous...Cuz I dont even use 80% of the stuff I buy! Ive used Pantene for well over a year now if not two years yet I buy stuff I dont even use...just to buy it!

I'm getting rid of all of my half wigs and clip on hair-they don't match my new black roots which have grown down quite a bit. Some are brand new and I can't bring myself to throw them out but I will. I'm getting rid of my pantene stuff except for my remaining r & n masks since they're nothing but cones with a bit of b5 thrown in and fragrance.

And I'm getting rid of my box colors including Bigen. If I color again, I'm going to a professional. I'm also getting rid of my Mizani butter relaxer for fine and color treated hair. That one seems harsher than the one for normal hair so out it goes. I've got some dom stuff that I'm saving for Hericane if she ever comes back to town unless we have both decided to turn our backs on all things NOT ayurvedic

I have about 50 conditioner I can toss because I doubt I will use them even to co wash.
I bought them because they were half price and on sale.

I'm kinda torn about my giveaway. I have a girlfriend that I'm trying to get on the healthy hair kick. I'm trying to transition to natural products & basically giving her all of my paraben/cone filled products. Is that wrong? Examples: Motions Conditioner (does nothing for my hair), Kids Organics Detangler (cone filled - leaves a build-up), CON moisture poo, shea butter moisturizer, etc. I was feeling bad b/c normally I don't give away stuff that I wouldn't use myself. What's your opinion?

Use the condtioner as a shave cream if you shave. Condition your skin as you shave!

I'm with you. I really didn't know how much stuff I had until I took an inventory and totaled up the dollar value of my stock. Since, I'm wearing kinky/curly twist extensions, it didn't make any sense to have so many products on hand. So, one of my New Year's resolution is to clean house!!

I think I'm going to keep all my conditioners but get rid of all of my shampoos (ecept my giovanni ones). I'm gonna stick to baking soda and shikakai this year

For the last two months, I've have been giving away, using up and not buying much of anything. My stash has gotten way down. What I have left are staples and almost-staples. I think I can go through much of 2008 without buying any products except maybe replenishing some vitamins. At least, I'm going to try...

Yeah thats my problem I have to many conditioners and products to use as a leave in but I only ever use one!

I'm not really getting rid of anything.. Conditioners will be used for pre poos... I have a volcanic ash mask from blended beauty that I should try to give away. I don't like messy stuff like that -- hence my not participating in any ayureveda (sp?) stuff.

I prob never have to buy shampoo again!

I don't plan on being a hardcore PJ in 2008, in fact I gave away 60% of my products or threw out the junk! In fact, I have more than enough products to carry me through the year. I'm searching for a new moisturizer but that's about it. I got sick of all the products I had, infact sometimes it became overwhelming...I felt like I was a hoarder.

I have bad evil morbid thoughts of Qhemet deciding to stop selling her products and retire to the islands. What will I do if there is no more Burdock Root Butter Cream?!? It makes me want to buy a dozen jars to keep just in case there is, as you said a nuclear holocaust.

I tried this a while back, brought it in savers, loved the smell, i think it seduced me more than the actual conditioning benefits, i used it for a conditioning wash, also was dissappointed because i think it shoulda cost £1 !!! not worth more than that

dunno, may the £1 shop and 99p shops have spoilt me
i dont spent more than £3 on deep conditioners and £1 on prewash conditioner.

Does that sound cheap?
