before I read the reviews on here.... Uh oh!

A couple of you have had melting incidents. My father just put it together for me. I'm going to take it upstairs and plug it in and see what happens. I really hope it's fine because I just spent $159 on it at my local BSS.

I can take it back if anything...I was really just trying to find an alternative to spending hundreds on a pibbs.

So far so good. I had it on for about 15 minutes or more and turned it all the way up. It hasn't melted or smelled like anything is burning.

It is very very quiet, even when it's on high. I can still watch TV while i'm under there, which is near impossible in my old dryer.

how fast does it dry your whole head? does it feel like the dryer at the salon or one of the cheap portable ones? is the air circulating all over, or are there 'hot spots'? i saw a few on ebay and im still in the market for a hood dryer if this pibbs deal doesnt fall through

I'm under it right now actually...so i don't know how fast i will dry. I set the timer for 40 minutes and have the the power on low, and the temperature is set just below 65 degrees (75 is the highest). It's quite hot at 65 but not unbearable at all. It's a very comfortable kind of hot.

You can turn the air temp down to 30 degrees if you want to dry on cool (which i may try one day just to see how long it takes.

Anyway so far I really like the dryer. I saw a lot of bad reviews on here after I bought it, so i was quite skeptical.

I have the Pebco (Pro tools) Ionic 2500 professional dryer (the women on here were complaining about the 2200 non-ionic model. This model is very new (according to the guy at the BSS, I haven't really researched to see if that is really true.

Yes the air is circulating all over, no hot spots like with my table hooded dryer.

What i like best about this dryer is that i can sit comfortably in a chair with it. I'm not trying to prop it up on something or having to fight with the neck to stay at a certain height like I usually do with my table top dryer. This was the main reason I wanted a dryer like this, plus as my hair gets longer my drying time was increasing considerably (last time it took me 1.5 hours to dry in my old dryer). I don't expect that to happen with this dryer because of the even distribution of the the heat. All of my rollers are being attended to by the warm air at the same time.

I wanted a Pibbs too, but it is just too much $$ for me right now.

Well Ms. Gorgeous Healthy Hair,

Please post a pic of the dryer if you can!

It looks just like the one in the picture except the plastic part around the rollers is a purple/pinkish clear plastic instead of black.

So far I really like it. Hopefully this will be my alternative to a Pibbs...at about half the price!
