I Smell Like Fish

So I washed my hair.

Mannn, that Silk Amino Acid sure is fishy! It's doesn't help that I'm no mixologist :/

I mixed the following and spayed on my hair:

2 onces of SAA
a lil bit of Chi Silk Infusiom
a bil bit of emu oil

Ewwww - and it dripped onto my shirt and made my shirt fishy. I had to shampoo all my precious products out.

I brought a spray bottle and now I want to mix stuff. Please help me make a connection.

Oh Dsylla! I know what you mean! I only got the SAA for my mascara. Sareca was saying that it makes your eyelashes grow longer and I have to say that it has grown mine a little.
I only put 2 drops in my mascara, and the smell of it is something else! Luckily the smell disappears once its dry.
Hopefully someone can help you! I haven't tried using it on my hair for that same reason

My (ex) DH was on the way over but I didn't have time to wash my hair. I just lit a candle and prayed he wouldn't smell it

I mix mine w/either jasmine or rosemary oil, plus add saw palmetto, burdock & nettle extracts and use it as a leave-in.

The smell disappears!

Yeah I experienced the same thing and no amount of mixing and diluting cut that fish smell. I can't take stinky products no matter what the benefit .

LOL @ this entire thread-Dsylla and Mzhotniz-you ladies have me crying here. Yes that is some foul smelling stuff. I started out using it heavily but I had to pull waaaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyyy back. Now I mainly use it as a spritz on my previously relaxed hair because I know it will be in for only a short time.

i think if you only use a little bit it doesn't smell. it should be about 1-2% of your total product. i use it in my mascara and in my conditioner & leave-in, but it doesn't smell. i only use about 1/2 capful when mixing with my conditioner and 2-3 drops with my mascara.

Oh Dsylla...I'm sorry but this has me laughing so hard! I was thinking you posted in the wrong forum about your "fishy" problem!

Only use a tiny bit of that stuff...I put a little bit on the ends of my hair, then pile on my leave-in and oil...that way you can't smell the SAA at all.

When I first got mine I thought they'd gone bad! Luckily though once I mix it into something else the smell disappears. Try putting a few drops of an essential oil whose scent you like, or always apply it as part of a routine where you'll be using good smelling things -- as someone else mentioned it doesn't smell usually once it dries.


I definitely think the smell is worth the results though

Same here... I mix mine with eqyss or sweet orange and nutmeg EOs. By itself it is a bit fishy. I also think the results are worth the smell.

I just got my SAA two days ago and I can't smell nothing

I put my nose aaaallll up in the bottle and I could barely smell anything. I am still getting over a cold so maybe that's why.
