I Want Layers & I'm Tempted to Cut Them Myself

Well...I was layered and relaxed. I've spent the last 5yrs or so growing out the layers and the last 2 growing out the perm. If I had it to do all over again, I would've never got it layered in the first place. It's takes too long to grow out the layers. However, if it's something you want, go for it.
 
I'm layered and used to hate it.
But the longer and thicker my hair gets I appreciate it more and more.
It gives my superthick hair movement and volume:yep:

My hair is only SL and I admire the layers in the back. Supergirl, if you really really want it, then go for it!

Ella, I admire your hair so much- it is so thick and look at all of that happy NG :yep:!

I had layers cut in 1997 and regretted it also. But the guy that did it took off way too much length. I am hoping that maybe I can find someone that will leave my hair long (or do it myself). Layers look so pretty when the hair is worn down straight or rollerset.

I do remember that as my hair and layers got longer, it was pretty.
 
Hey Supergirl! I can't see the video b/c I'm at work, but is it the one where you bring all of your hair into a high ponytail and cut straight across?

I have layers and I like them....I love them even more as my hair gets longer.:yep:
 
This is a great way to get long layers. Another member posted this method a while back. I thought it was ArmyQT, but I'm not sure.
 
My hair is layered naturally...if i were to blunt cut it Id have to cut it to my ears lol. So I just have to go with it. I think some face framing layers are cute....kinda like how Jennifer Anniston's hair used to be on friends. I know she is white lol, but its the only example I can think of. Id love to have a cut like that when it gets longer.

I would say think long and hard about it because once u get them u are stuck with them.

Now there is a member here who has been transitioning without the big chop and she just cut a lot of her hair....she gave herself very nice layers and I wish she would do a tutorial on it....it looked awesome! Id prefer to cut my own over letting a stylist do it...at least if I mess up I cant blame anyone except myself...and I can control how much length I take off.

Oops, I referring to the one on the right :blush:. All I see is lots of thickness and I get too happy :grin:- with my thin hair, I relish in the NG:lachen:.

Beautifully texlaxed though!

Anky, I've never thought about a wig. Do they make wigs with long layers? By the way, your hair is looking great. I had to laugh when I saw the Bible verse under your siggy pic. I'm sure you don't mean for it to go with the pic, but it's funny when I think of your story of the scissor happy stylist you encountered.

When I got my hair cut in layers, that's what the stylist did (sans the ponytail holder). I was nervous at first like wth... but the overall outcome was gorgeous.

So I say go for it... Just don't cut too much. I will cry...
