Haven't tried this, but what helps me with henna dryness is:
1. Prepoo with Amla oil, moisture-rich conditioner, heat
2. Mixing my henna with avocado and honey
3. Co wash with Aveda DR con
4. DC with Aveda DR Intensive + honey + oil

I have minimal dryness that is gone by the next time I co wash, which is usually a couple of days later. HTH

I always oil rinse after henna, but I've found that DC dry hair w/ heat BEFORE henna helps much much more.

It probably wouldn't hurt.

I started cowashing after my henna instead of shampooing and that has helped tremendously with the dryness from a year ago. I shampoo the next time I wash my hair.
