Light headedness/nausia from MN?!?!?!

Ladies, I need help. I'm not sure if this is a normal reaction from this stuff. I washed my hair and DCed on Sunday. Last night (Monday) I mixed the MN with so much crap, just because I didn't want to put it on straight. I know this may sound stupid, but I mixed it with Luster Silk hairdress conditioner (because I had a little left in the jar and I wanted to use the jar to mix it up in), I put some Vita-D hair food, Jojoba oil, Liz & daughters Come back cream, and EVOO. You want to know why I mixed it with those specific things? Hell if I know, there was no rhyme or reason as to why because I have no idea what I'm doing when it comes to that stuff. So I parted my hair and LIGHTLY applied, as if I was lightly greasing my scalp. I them cornrowed my hair and pinned the ends up, put on my satin cap and went to sleep. I remembered some women saying that they got headaches from using it, so I wanted to pay attention to how I felt in the morning. Well, this morning I woke up light headed and slightly nausious. Is this reaction normal?? MN users, did you feel funny the next day? No, I didn't braid tight, wasn't drinking, and heck no, I'm not pregnant. Help!!

Darn, I just noticed I spelled nausea wrong.. I'm really having a bad day. BTW, it's so bad, I'm leaving work early today.

If you are having those type of side effects I wouldnt try to use it again. Hope you feel better!

Sorry to hear this MtAiryHoney, I hope you feel better. One morning I woke up with a slight headache but that was about it, no nausea though. Discontinue use, we don't want you to have anymore problems. Once again feel better.

I experienced this the first time I used MN, but I thought it was due to me being on my period. I used it again two days later without those feelings. I never used it again.Later DogMD posted a link to the American Cancer Society that stated that this is one of MN's side effects. I threw my concoction away and never looked back.

Thanks so much for your well wishes OrangeMoon and Leslie_C, I think I am going to discontinue use. I can function like this. Evazhair, just to let you know, it's not that time of month for me, so I guess that's just the reaction for some people. I'm just suprised that no one mentioned it... I just heard about headaches. I think being lightheaded and nauseated are two of the worst feelings... and it's just constant too. I'm getting out of work at 12, I'm going to hightail it home, wash my hair really good to get this stuff off of my scalp and go to sleep. Hopefully I'll feel better by this evening. Thanks again everyone.:yep:

Hope you feel better. I just read where the dizziness/nausea can also be symptoms of an allergic reaction to MN as well so be careful!!

I just thought about something... do you mean that's a side effect when you use it on your vagina?? Sheesh... I'm trying to kill myself putting is so close to my brain! Geesh... I think I'm not going to try anymore growth aids. I'll just grow normally and tenderly care for my ends.

Yeah. from now on I am focusing on natural, healthy growth aids that benefit my health as well. I learned my lesson.

I had this kind of bad reaction using MN for a skin condition. I was nauseated and I didn't feel better until I got that stuff off my skin as much as I could (it absorbs into the skin) and vomited a couple of times. My dermatologist later gave me something that worked without the side effects. For this reason, I'm really glad I don't generally get yeast infections.

MtAirey, sorry you're not feeling well. This is a quote from that website:

How Drug Is Given:
Miconazole nitrate is given in a number of ways. Given as an injection in the vein over 30 to 60 minutes, the dose and length of treatment depend on the infection being treated. Miconazole nitrate is also given as a vaginal suppository or as a cream or powder applied to the skin.

Apparently, you're sensitive to MN, and could have experienced your side effects regardless of how you used it. Now you know, so if you need it for traditional purposes (), you'll need to choose something else!

One thing we all need to remember, though: Anything we put on our skin will somehow affect our bodies. *Hint* There are lots of medications given transdermally. Just in case you have other sensitivities, though, check out www.naet.com. I want to get the word out that there is a totally natural way to eliminate allergies! HTH

Thanks Nicole1976. I don't remember having this reaction before. I haven't had a YI in so many years... (thank ya Jesus! *knocking on wood*) Maybe it's an allergic reactions that I've grown into- I've also grown into seasonal allergies. I'll keep this in mind if I ever get another YI (hopefully never again as long as I stay Black, I hate those things) I'll let my Dr. know of this reaction, so I can get something minus the side effect if need be.
