I don't think you will be able to get it unless you order it from the UK. http://www.beautybay.com/haircare/wellasp/keratinoilkit/iAdId26316

Besides, I was looking at the MSDS for the "oil" and it seems to made up of half silicone anyway. http://www.wellausa.com/msds/System_Professional/SP_KERATIN_OIL_PHASE1.pdf

You can get liquid protien form other places. If you want keratin, you can get it from http://www.styleone.com/store.html. Theie "Pure Protein" is keratin with no additives. If you call them you can get a larger size bottle.

You can get marine protien (collegen) and animal protien from (collegen) http://www.snowdriftfarm.com/collagen.html. I think they also sell Soy protein. All pure liquids with no additives.

How are people using these proteins?

Thank you for sharing, Honeydew!!

Your hair is sooo beautiful. What is your regimen?

I always buy keratin oil on e-bay.

Thank you!!!!!!!!

My regime: I am bunning for a year and low heat, low manipulation. Go to salon for a wash each week. Kinky Curly pudding to smooth back into a bun. Airdry and flat iron for 'length checks' and back to the bun. Stylist alternates protein or moisture treatment(s) as needed. Scarf at night. And only comb and manipulate on wash day. Edges are unruly. Considering texlaxing (:help2: y'all go to that thread--pretty please)

I have the protein from Style One and I add it to my relaxer with some oil. My hair comes out in much better condition. It no longer ends up real dry and strawlike. It's smoother and feels healthier. I also use the Neutral Protein Filler from Sally's.
I also use the marine collagen. I add that to conditioners and prepoos.

I add them to conditioners or henna treatments since they are pure protein like that. The Wella one may good using it straight since it is diluted like that - I am not sure. But I have some marine collagen and keratin from Style One and I just add them to conditioner.

I didn't know that about the Wella keratin oil. I used it mixed in my relaxer, like Pixellady does and it made my hair soooo much stronger. I ordered some more form Beautybay.com to mix in my conditioner treatments. I really like this stuff and it is now one of my staples.
However, now that i know about pure keratin oil...i'll have to try some of that stuff:look:.

Hi there,

Can you tell me the ingredients of this?

tia,
tishee

I would like to try it, I know you can order it online but what exactly does it do for our hair? :look:

Panthenol basically fills in the gaps on our hair where the keratin "chips off" (LOL..scientific description eh?) when used topically. IOW, it smoothes the hair shaft and helps it avoid tangling/breakage. It's also good for growth of keratin based body tissue like nails and hair when taken internally...they usually include it in vitamins as B5, but you can buy it alone as B5 or Panthenolic acid.

It's something of a workhorse vitamin in pill or liquid form...it generally smoothes and fills gaps. That's why it's so common in hair and nail products.

Hrrm, that sounds rather similar to what ceramides are supposed to do for hair, too. :nono: I need to stop reading your posts - you always make me wanna start experimenting and buying stuff!! :lachen:

Hmmm I want to order some of that collagen. Does anyone know which form of hydrolyed collagen (animal or marine) is found in the old formula of Nexxus Emergencee? I notice they removed it and I'd love to find some so I can add it.
