I am forever telling those people in Pentagon City that I don't use direct heat so I'm not interested.Do you think they accept that? They just keep talking, and I keep walking. God forbid you are trying to go to a store and have to pass them.@Candy_C I told one yt girl at the kiosk one day that she better back up from me with that iron and she had the nerve to act scared. I wasn't in the mood that day.If they are going to be so bold you should expect some bold responses. Some of the people they have working there obviously have no business trying to flat iron someone's hair. They always look so perplexed that you don't want them to fry your hair! I haven't been to Tysons in a couple months, so I haven't seen them there. I will be on the lookout
.
that's not even the worst part... while i was storming off, she was yelling after me, "but it's ceramic! ceramic is good for your hair!" ... i mean, you just deep fried a good section of my hair, and now you're gonna fill me with lies? if it was so good for my hair, why was it steaming like a hot plate of food???
i learned my lesson though, from now on, i'm only wearing buns to the mall! lol
I second that!sorry you had to have that experience. but just be thankful she did not damage your scalp and stop the hair from growing back.. that woman is going to get the wrong female one day who will not hesitate to beat her behind and kick her as far as wind and water can carry her....
oooo yeah. seen that at the mall here. I had my hair in a bun, the guy was like, I can make your hair straight, starts reaching for my hair.
I was like whoa whoa whoa! slow your roll, I've messed people up for less!
Then he's like, Oh no don't hit me, I can make your hair look nice and straight(little does he know it was either hit or shoot because i'm always packin)
I said you been putting that thing all up in folks hair who may have lice and who knows what else. So no thank you, I like having a healthy scalp and me and my non straight hair is just fine the way it is.
I also told him that before you start grabbing somebody's hair, you better be real careful, some of us wear firearms legally and really don't like it when people get in our personal place like that.
That freaked him out
Last time I saw him at the mall he was being REAL careful to not jump all in people's personal space.

OMG, when I was in D.C., the Pentagon City Flat-Ironers would shout me out everytime I walked by. I couldn't avoid them because the kiosk was located in front of Bath & Body Works. I stayed in B&BW during that Semi-Annual sale, so I saw those flat-iron people a lot. They were soooooo annoying!
One time this Black guy was at the kiosk and he kept asking me if he could straighten my hair. I told him that I'm not ready to straighten it yet, and it would look weird with one straight piece. He said that with that iron he could make curls and the curls would blend in with my natural curls......yeah right. If they're gonna blend in, then why do I need to flat-iron it? How in the heck would a straight curl blend in with coily hair anyway, but whatever. That iron was smoking!!!!! I told him that the temperature on the iron was too high because of the smoke. He said that it was okay because since it's a ceramic iron, then it's "safe heat."
Then he's like, Oh no don't hit me, I can make your hair look nice and straight(little does he know it was either hit or shoot because i'm always packin)
I think I know the Black guy you are talking about. He's a little "how u doin". Yeah he tried to solicit me once, acting like he was selling a Chanel iron or something. I just said nah, I don't use that in mid motion to BBW . He was so thrown off. It was so funny.
lol i would have boxed her down for that
so would my mum!
i agree you cant allow this thing to happen, yoooooo ("ghetto time") i dont like stranger touching me anyway,
i woulda been like "move yaself eeeediat gyal! bout your comin to me with iron, backweh!"
Okay, that sounds unreal. But thanks for the warning. Where do these people get off flatironing other people's hair in the middle of a mall?

I'm glad I'm not the only one who can't stand these people in the mall. There's a kiosk outside the store where my little sister works and one day I walked by with my hair just done (rollerset & roots blown). This Russian guy was like, "Excuse me, how do you get your hair like that." I told him with a blowdryer and kept on walking and this fool wash shouting, "Come back, I can do that with the flatiron, it will look better and it's less heat."
I just looked at his crazy arse. If I just got my hair done, why would I want you to put MORE heat on it anyway? LOL I wish one of these ppl would come after me because I would be owning that kiosk. They are so abrasive and no matter how your hair looks: relaxed, natural, bald, in braids...they are trying to flatiron it.
How did you give her all that time to do that to your hair?I would have just ran away before she grabbed my hair to flat iron it like that. That's just so strange how you let her do all that to your hair.
