clarifying

I dont think its really necessary, as long as you condition really well, your hair should be fine. I've done this a few times bc i didnt want to shampoo my hair more than once and my hair turned out the same as it always does

I also follow up with a moisturizing shampoo. My shampoo's directions actually tell me to. :drunk:

Ditto...design essentials moisture retention shampoo is designed to be used after their organic cleanse shampoo that can be used as a 1st lather to remove buildup, etc.

I do it with other shampoos too, because to me it helps bring back some of the softness and then the conditioning seems to finish the job.

I use mainly Aveda products and clarify once a month with the Detoxifier, when I bought it I was advised to follow with my regular shampoo (DR) apart from relaxer time this is the only time I lather more than once. This works well for me and leaves my hair very soft after my DC.

I dont.

I never understood the purpose of this (if anyone knows why, please tell)
Clarifying shampoo strips your hair of everything, and a moisturizing shampoo cleanses more lightly
So whats the purpose of the second shampoo? Theres nothing else to clean.
Why not just go straight to the regualr moisturizing conditioner, seems like that would be better for the hair unless the second shampoo moisturizes or softens your hair better than the conditoner

Sometimes I follow up with a moisturizing shampoo, and sometimes I don't. My hair always turns out fine. I just make sure my clarifying shampoo is gentle, and let how my hair feels dictate what I do next.

I used too but I don't really anymore. Clarifying helps your conditioner really get into your hair to do its thang so I just follow it with a deep conditioner and call it a day.
