What is in that BBD Stretch creme that justifies it being 50 bucks?

I saw this mentioned in a thread re: elasticity and researched it. Come on now...50 dollars? Does anyone know the ingredients?

i think it's like a big secret or something!!! seriously, if you read the site he alludes to his "secrets". They also talk @ it other places, him and his secrets!!

I've tried it and I liked it, but I won't repurchase because of the price factor. No one knows the ingredients. It has been alleged that its Nexxus and some other stuff mixed together, but no one really knows.

Are you natural? and did it define your curls? what exactly did it do that made you like it?

Personally, I think he is just so over-the-top and self important that he just "knows" his stuff is worth $50. NOT!!!!!!!!!!

I will not buy it!! $50 for some cream!?! With all the products out here today, NO ONE needs to be charging that kind of money from something like that. I'll stick with Qhemet Biologics and others!

Tell Miss Jessie's and them that Honeydew. Their stuff is up there in price too. I don't get it. :ohwell:

I don't care for this. I don't think it did anything special for my hair.

ETA: I got it for $23. I must have gotten some expired batch.

Well people must be buying it for them to keep the prices up.

I am DONE with these over priced products!!

Qhemet's stuff is borderline for me, but that is the most I will go for products. I think my Qhemet stuff is the most expensive product I use regularly.

It just does NOT make sense!

I bought a tube of Aveda DR treatment and I am going to use that stuff like it is liquid gold. $26 for that?!?! If I hadn't had those 3 glasses of wine before going into that Aveda shop, I may not not even purchased it when I did!! :spinning:

I was one of them that did purchase this and I only use it when I'm having breakage in the Summer. It really helps and it also kept my hair soft too.

What I don't like is the price, that's why I will not purchase this again. I purchased this back in 2006 and still have a half jar left. I only use a little bit of it and it gets the job done.

My ex-step-mom gave me the remainder of her jar of BBD Stretch back when I was in highschool. I recently came across it again and now I apply the tiniest dab on my ends whenever they need elasticity and moisture. Any breakage always stops immediately. I dread the day when I run out and I have to repurchase:perplexed.

I agree....a little goes a long way. I had two jars from like last summer and I still had a little over half a jar that I sold on the exchange forum. You can get it for around 30 bucks and it does last a long time. I liked it and it did help with elasticity and breakage...I even used it sort of as a moisturizer for a while. It worked better for me as a leave in than a deep conditioner. Ill probably buy it again if I start having any issues again. I just sold it bc I plan to start wearing rollersets and I felt it would be too heavy as a leave in.

ETA I just remembered I actually only had 1.5 jars because a friend and I split an order where u could get 3 jars for 90 bucks or something like that. So 1.5 jars lasted me almost a year and a half with still a half a jar left! I only used a nickel or quarter sized amount on a regular basis.

:lachen::lachen: I have to say that is why I haven't been buying any product offline. The price plus the S&H is getting really ridiculous. As they get popular their prices go up. QB is classic with that. Carol's Daughter too!!!

I will stick with QB until I am able find something works just as good, at a better price with S&H included in my price consideration. Although, I have become a serious mixtress, and I am going to stop buying this stuff altogether, when I get the right formulation of products that I can continue to make at cost.

I bought the whole line off ebay and don't even use it...steady rationing the stuff like it's a saltine I have to share with 5 other people. I don't even enjoy using it because I am constantly keeping tabs on how much...how much...don't use too much. I mean I like it but is it worth all that money? H to the naw.

Some people swear by his products. I've only tried the BBD Stretch - spilt one with a fellow hairboarder - and wasn't impressed. On separate occasions I used it as a deep conditioner, a leave in and a moisturizer. For me the results weren't any bettter than a bunch of other, cheaper products. Not gonna lie though, if it was a winner I'd have ordered it again.

The price is crazy but I still have an urge to purchase. One of my friends came into town over the summer for my wedding and I thought she was wearing a fake curly ponytail. I think she has 4B hair, so I was shocked when she showed me that it was her real hair. She said her stylist used dax and bbd growth stretch.

:lachen: Girl, i am still trying to figure out how I ended up with a bill of $107 for a pedicure at the Aveda Concept spa and that tube of DR Treatment. When they told me how much it all came up to I was like :look:

DON'T DRINK and AVEDA!!

I am with you on QB. Her stuff is the ish all day long. I cannot wait for her to release the Sidr Tree replacement!

LOL Girl, I like to PILE on my conditioners like nobody's business! Aveda just takes away all of my fun. Again, my Lustrasilk Olive Oil Cholesterol is WONDERFUL - $2.99 and I can use ALL I WANT!

I bought a jar over a year ago and it is still practically full. I use it very sparingly when stretching to prevent breakage...it really does seem to help. However, I won't be repurchasing because of the price factor....unless I can find it cheap on ebay. :look:

I have not use my BBD Stretch creme in month, but I do like it along with the BBD Keala oil.(soft silky hair)
I paid only 23 bucks for mine, the only reason I buy.

I know! I get all the "colors" AND at my supplier (BSS) they have the big 'ol tub of the green (I think it's the Aloe Vera) for like 7 bucks. I think it's the 6 lb'er.

Thanks for the links! Does anyone know if the first link is a reputable site? I wonder how they can sell at such low prices!!

Anyways, I think I'm going to order some of these on Friday.

I think they are reputable...I remember a while back a lot of ppl were ordering their affirm relaxers from this site.

I use this and it definately works. I use it only as my "after relaxer" conditioner and it prevents breakage and dryness for me. I bought it 2 years ago and I stll have almost 3/4 of the jar left. The instructions state to only use a half-dollar size amount depending on the length of your hair. I paid $40.00 for it and at this rate it will probably take me another 3 years to use it up. So that is about $6.00 per year. Not very expensive if you use it liberally.

If 1 jar lasts over a year, why is everyone tripping over the price?...that's less than $4 per month....sounds like a bargain to me if it works. :perplexed
