I have heard different responses from stylists. I have not dusted since April 2007...six months ago. I relaxed two days ago and my ends need cleaning. Should I trim when its wet or dry?

Because hair stretches when it's wet, I would suggest you trim on dry hair. That way you have a realistic view of what you are actually cutting and get no unwanted surprise when you are in the finishing stage of doing your hair.
I usually trim or dust on dry hair for greater accuracy. A good rule of thumb for dusting is that the dusted hair is supposed to look like dust on the floor. When I cut or trim naturally straight hair or hair with a little wave, I prefer to do so with the hair wet.
I can't say 100%, but I notice my stylist always trims just after blowdrying when my hair is straightest. Also, I see that a lot of the ladies here dust/trim on flat ironed hair. I think it makes the condition of the ends easier to see--and, once again, you can see just how much you are cutting and get it even.Thank you. You think its best to rollerset or flat iron prior to dusting?
