Honey as a Shampoo

Has anyone used honey to wash the hair, someone told me it worked great for their hair, but i'm hesitant to try it. Whats some other edible things that you all have washed with and realized it does wonders for you hair?

ACV (Apple Cider Vinegar)
Aloe Vera Juice
Coconut Milk and Coconut Oil
Herbal Teas for rinses
Baking Soda
 
How do you use the Aloe Vera juice? Do you just rinse with it like you would ACV?

No I used it as a pre-treatment before conditioning..I have used Chicoro's recipe(in her Fotki) with good results..It's Aloe vera juice,essential oils, and jamaican black castor oil
 
I've never washed with Honey - but it works great added to my deep conditioner mix. It made my hair super shiny and it felt very strong once it dried. I always thought it would be sticking a gross but it rinses right out.
 
I never used any food item except yucca to wash my hair. However, just this evening I made a hair mask with honey, olive oil, yogurt, molasses and added a heaping teaspoon of my powdered herb mix consisting of rosemary, burdock, irish moss, fenugreek, nettle, barley grass, horsetail and a couple more herbs. Irish moss is a great thickener besides being good for hair. I did it yesterday, too and my hair felt so good all day today (even after the profuse sweating I did working out, which normally dries my hair out) that I did it again tonight.

I forgot to add my banana last night and tonight, which I have done in the past. I have also used avocado, coconut milk, coconut cream, soy milk, apple cider vinegar, egg, mayonnaise, sweetened condense milk. I have been toying with the idea of adding pumpkin puree to the above mix. Sunday I made a final rinse with nettle, rosemary, sage and burdock teas. Sometimes I do a final rinse with honey and acv. I read today on BHM about soaking oatmeal for a couple of days, extracting the water, adding acv and rinsing to combat humidity. Although the humidity is not that high here, I just told my mom that I have a big old bag of oatmeal that she left here and I am just going to try this one out.

Soy Milk? What does it do? Is it like a protein treatment or something? Cause I have some Silk I forgot to throw out and needed to find some use for besides mixing in my oatmeal and tea...
