i think you're comparing apples to oranges. vatika oil from what i understand is for managibility, shine, and sealing in moisture. its also used for pre poos. Mtg on the other hand is used on the scalp and helps with thickness and hair growth. so basically its hard to compare the two since they'rse used for different things.

I used vatika oil on my dd's scalp. Her scalp was severely dry and flaky, and vatika cleared it up. It improved her already beatiful texture, and her hair even grew a little. Not the kind of growth you'd get from BT or LR, but growth is growth :)

ITA- I use and love both but for mostly different reasons, MTG I use on my SCALP gives me great growth period so I use it for that. Vatika makes my hair silky and helps seal my cuticle and gives my HAIR a nice shine, in my sulphur mix it helps with growth-but that's not really why I use it. But I would still have both its not an either/or option for me :)

WELCOME TO THE FAMILY! :wave::kiss:

My understanding is that Vatika Oil is perfect for sealing in moisture. I like to use it for pre-poos, during my rollersets, and for shine and manageability. VO is awesome.

MTG, on the other hand, smells too awful for me to even comment. :throwup::nono:

I just ordered this online the other day... can't wait til it arrives!

You'll love it! If the bottle gets below room temperature, the coconut oil in it will solidify into little gritty pieces. I stick it in the microwave for 10-15 seconds and it's all liquid again. It's wonderful to apply to the hair warm! :yep:

what kind of vatika oil are you guys talking about and where can i get it ?
i like alma oil as well but its a bit heavy

dabur that makes alma also does vatika oil. It's mostly coconut based. I had to order mine online because I don't know of any indian stores around me...but I have an indian friend, I need to be asking her where it is because she gets her henna from an indian store.

The kind I buy is made by Dabur and I get it at my local Indian market. If you don't have one in your area, you can probably get it online. It's really a great product!

I tried out the Vatika oil yesterday and I absolutely :love4: it! I sealed with it and it makes my hair sooo soft and gives it INCREDIBLE shine and has a nice lemony smell to it. I'm hooked!:pepper:

FYI.......I don't know if you can make it to the city but there's a BIG Indian store on 28th Between Park and Lexington that sells EVERYTHING and they have Vatika and damn near anything else Indian! The Indian neighborhood is all around Lex between 27th and 29th but the store I go to is on 28th. HTH

I think that Vatika Oil has made my hair much thicker! It's either that alone or the combination of that and Amla. I've never tried the MTG, but the Vatika has done something extra for my hair that I hadn't noticed until recently.
