I use castor oil grease I love it though some say grease is bad for you. I apply it to my hair and scalp along with t-tree oil. These are the only things I put in my hair aside from shampoo and conditioner. And it smells great

I have only used a little on my hair to add shine after a roller set. It turned out to be too heavy. Or maybe I just used too much.
I have some left and I plan on trying to use is as a pre poo or hot oil treatment and see how that goes.

The regular castor oil is great to use in prepoos, deep conditioners and homemade moisturizers. JBCO (Jamaican Black Castor Oil) is great for sealing. I use both for these purposes. I alternate with different oils, but castor oil is a wonderful, natural product to use.

I have the hollywood beauty castor oil grease and I use it on my ends to seal before I do bantu knots. It seals better than my regular castor oil, which I use for prepoos.

i've been using it on wet hair to seal before rollersetting or on dry hair at night on my ends. i bought mine from camden grey, it doesn't leave my hair sticky at all. but i kinda like this adding it to conditioners idea! or as pre-poo. hmmmm

I just started using it and I was surprised at how thick it was also. After I put it on I don't even like to comb my hair, but once it dries my hair is very silky, soft and shiny. I think I may try to find another lighter oil that I can cut it with like jojoba, to keep it from being so gunky and hard to spread.

I experimented a little tonight, putting a few drops of that Island Mango oil(I think that's what it's called?) in my hand with the castor oil, it smelled better right away and didn't take much to cut it.

Well Dillard, I tried my rollerset with castor oil. Over all my hair feels soft but it's a little weighed down & has a slight residue. I think next time I'm going to skip the castor oil & stick to using a serum. I will continue to use it to seal in my daily mositure (NTM).

I just started using it and I was surprised at how thick it was also. After I put it on I don't even like to comb my hair, but once it dries my hair is very silky, soft and shiny. I think I may try to find another lighter oil that I can cut it with like jojoba, to keep it from being so gunky and hard to spread.

I heard from a thread about the different types of oil for the hair that jojoba, is non-penatrative, which means it's only good to seal in the moisture.

The other night I stumbled on a way to apply Castor Oil on dry hair. My bottle was oiled up b/c I had it in a baggie for my weekend away from home. So I ran some water (hot) just to clean the bottle and when I applied it to my hair it was loose and easy to apply.

I apply Castor Oil on dry hair b/c it so thick (I rub it between my palms to loosen it up) but now that I know a better way I may start apply it to wet hair as well.

so you heated up the oil, while still in the bottle? That makes some sense, I could see it being thinner then.
