as i sit here sighing, i'm a little upset with my hair right now. i went to the hairdresser, which by the way was such a horrible day and another complaint thread but, i got a trim and boy did she trim!! i'm trying not to let it bother me that my hair is now the length it was 6months ago! ouch...that really hurts. i had got to apl length wanting to knock on bra strap and now my hair is barely at apl or just past my shoulders....AGAIN!!!:wallbash: i wouldnt care so much but since joining lhcf and taking so much time and devotion with my hair over the past several months, its cutting like a knife right now. i was just looking in the mirror and all i could say is...wow, this is the length my hair was back in january. like i always said and will say again, its only hair and will grow again. i must admit though, my hair was looking raggedy and i knew that if my stylist got her hands on it that she would take a chunk out of it.
i'm done whinning and venting but would love some support right about now:sad:
ladies.....

I'm really sorry that you're disappointed.:needhug: I think most of us are very sensitive about our hair too. The upside is that she only cut off the damaged hair. So at least now you can look forward to keeping your progress instead of having to dread getting it cut off.

Hope you don't mind my asking, but I'm curious as to why so much of the hair was damaged? Was it damaged prior to LHCF? I only ask because it looks like you've got some great products in your regimine based on your siggy.

Awww Honey :hug3: Im sure your hair is still beautiful. Your hair will grow back before you know it:heart:

ETA: What do you think caused the damage?

well it was damaged (from a stupid permanent dye. dont know why i did that! also i did the baggy method)when i started lhcf BUT then back in february was when i got it trimmed. so ok, it was looking good, it was the length it is now. i then did that dumb baggy method, again and it ruined my ends. i just lived with it for months. my hair obviously kept growing but those ends were looking so sad. my hair was growing but all uneven and raggedy. i knew and/or i wanted to get a good trim to start anew but like i said i almost feel like crying because i saw so much progress that i achieved on my own! i was patting myself on the back not giving credit to a stylist for my growth:sad:

thanks itsy. it does look beautiful, its silky, bouncy and that reminds me. when the shampoo girl finished blow drying my hair, another woman in the shop said, "look at all that bouncy hair!"
like i replied in the other thread the damage was from months ago from doing the baggy method. my hair hates that!!! i realized that was the villian after the 2nd time i attempted it!:wallbash:. it messed my hair up both times.
this time, i'm going to keep my hair regimen waaaaaaaay simple. all aveda, of course, and keep it up! hopefully by november, december i'll be apl again!!!:yep:

Awww Honey....*pats Honey on the back* Its gonna be okay sweetie.

i just wanna....:cry2::cry::cry2:

then y'all see i just put up new pics of my hair. a new pic w/longer hair. i may as well put the old one back up since thats the length it is now:sad:

i'm having a pity party right about now

That sucks! Please find another stylist.

i think i will but not for that. i cant take it anymore. i was in there from 10am until 5!!! that makes no sense whatsoever!!! she does take good care of your hair but the time you have to put out is ridiculous!!!

First of all :bighug:

Now I know you are feeling really down right now and we all need to have our "moment" after a devastating setback like this. But really, what's done is done and now you need to think about the positives of the situation. Now you have nice, clean, even, healthy ends that you can continue your journey with. It's like starting with a clean slate! And guess what that means... all you have to do is MAINTAIN the health of your ends, and then if/when you visit the stylist next you may not even need another trim! Knowing what you know now, you are well on your way to getting back your length and it'll be much healthier for your efforts. Just remember that all of this (setbacks and all) is part of the journey!

So slap on a smile , give your healthy shoulder length hair a little flip and keep it movin'! Happy hair growing!!

OMG, I can't believe the baggy method messed up your ends like that! I've heard of some ladies having problems with it. But I never knew why? Do you think it was the products or the process in general? I'm curious because I baggy faithfully, but I can't tell if it's working because I rarely straighten my hair.

At any rate, at least you know what not to do now (baggy method) and your hair still loves you and looks great from all the hard work you've put into it. You're doing a great job!:)

Yes, ITA

Well said! ITA. :hug3: to you!

Honey, I am so sorry to hear this - I know how much it sucks! I was waiting to hear some good report on your trip to the salon instead this :wallbash:.
Figure out what you are doing that is causing you to have ragged ends and once you fix that, your hair will thrive. I feel your pain and wish I could help but I am confident you will overcome this problem soon.:love:

:kiss:awwww thank u diya!!! and thats right, about the clean slate and seeing the positives. that is what i set out to do to begin with! i knew she would trim my ends but i guess i am a bit devastated too. like i said b4, i usually dont care about getting my hair cut but since i've been a family member here, i'm taking it very hard and personal. being on this forum you kind of sit there watching your hair grow and then when its chopped off in a seconds it stings a little:yep:

thank you so so much meaganita!!! but yeah, that baggy method ruined my hair twice!!! the 2nd time i had just had my ends trimmed so i was like, ok, i'm gonna protect those ends and baggied them up. well!!! when i washed and blow it out, my ends looked SOOOOOOOOOO raggedy and a mess!!! it was 2 weeks after getting a trim and it looked like i needed another one! horrible!! i refused to get a trim and just kept dc-ing and so forth. my hair was growing but the ends were tore up girl!!! so here i am after a (i swear) 2-4 inch trim!!!!

thanks girl and where have you been!!!????
those honestly were raggedy old ends that were hanging on for months! i knew this day was a coming!
i may even go to shampooing 1 every 2 weeks. dont hold me to that though:look:. i'm going to keep it up and less manipulation.
you know what else everyone? i kept having dreams about my hair this week too! i had a dream that i relaxed my hair and was upset that it was straight! i think i just wanted a texturizer. another dream i had was that it got cut off too.:ohwell:

maybe my mom....wow, i was just checking my hair again. its really where it was months ago!!!!:wallbash: just past my shoulders.
when i my gf saw me she said, wow...she did cut your hair:wallbash::wallbash::wallbash:

i wanted to thank all you ladies for the extra support. i'm getting along ok today and cant wait to put my hair up after today. i wore it down. i'm getting back to taking care of my hair and moving on from my devastation:grin:
gotta keep it moving!!! its only hair right?!!

I started school recently so I have been very busy. I will drop you a line soon.

I empathize with the fact that one achieves so much when one reaches a hair length goal. I also realize that my question may have some perceiving me as the devil incarnate, but...why be upset if the hair which was cut was damaged? Why would one want to hang on to damaged hair just to say that the hair is X length?

Help me to understand, please.

Alllll everything will be okay... We all had that feeling before and some are feeling that way right now... Group Hug :grouphug:

I'm proud of you for being open about this to us. My heart goes out to you. I went through the same thing a few months ago. My ends were damaged and my stylist who is normally not scissor happy went chopping away. She told me I needed a trim badly and asked me whether I wanted my hair evened out or layered. I told her I wanted which ever one resulted in the least amount of hair being cut. Ugh...she ended up layering it and chopped up to 2-3 inches in some areas. Boy was I HOT!!!:wallbash: It took me weeks to get over that chop. Every time I looked in the mirror I got so angry at her and wanted to cry looking at my hair. The good thing is that whenever I get my hair chopped it always seems to grow back faster. Look at my fotki "hair roller coaster" section and read it for the year of 2006. I'm wishing you all the best.

Well, now you have fresh and clean ends. Try to look at it like that, honey. That's what I did to deal - when I had my last setback.
