For a long time I was vehement about using a shampoo and conditioner from the same line. I'd only break my line loyalty for relaxers and sometimes moisturizers.

For the longest Kera Care Hydrt. Detangling Poo has been my favorite, but I felt that if I used it I HAD to use Humecto or some other Kera Care Conditioner along with it...not to mention Silken Seal, KC Leave In, and the hairdress.

Today I'm breaking my line loyalty by using the KCHD Poo but Aubrey Organics conditioner...I also prepooed with Aveda Sap Moss. My hair seemed to breath a sigh of relief as soon as the KCHD Poo was smoothed on. My hair absolutely LOVES this shampoo and I'll keep using it regardless of what type of conditioner I use.

Do you have trouble crossing lines? Especially with Shampoo and conditioner? Have you ever thought about using only the products from a line that you LOVE and getting the other products from another line? I think this will cut down drastically on my PJism...I've got so many shampoos under the counter that are reserve for clarifying or cleaning my combs and brushes because I felt I had to buy the poo with the conditioner.

Now I'm sticking with my favorite poo for as long as it works for me. Soon I hope to have one good protien and one good moisturizer that I will stick with as well used in combination with Castor Oil and/or Avocado butter which are my favorite dressings at this time.

Anyone else have some thoughts on line loyalty?

The only time I use the poo' and conditioner from the same line is when I use my Aveda.....the rest of the time I'm mixin' and matchin' from different lines.

I use the keracare line as well: @ first i just wanted to use their detangling shampoo but I heard I can really benefit from keracare products if I used them together: ex....
my hair reacted differently wen I used Keracare Conditioning Creme Hairdress w/ the other keracare products then w/o. It does nothing for my hair if I don't use it w/ other keracare products followed w/ a rollerset.

I usually use the same line (KCHD and humecto) except that I use Cathy Howse's Deep Conditioner once a week and she doesn't have a shampoo so I will use a poo from a different line. i still have some pantene poo and con and neutrogena poo and con that i use every now and again just to use them up.

In order to experience the full benefits of haircare products, I believe it is best to use shampoo and conditioner from the same product line. The products are designed to work together. That being said, I use a protein reconstructor from another line; the haircare product line I am currently using does not have a protein reconstructor. I also use a detangler/leave in from a different product line. Once it runs out, however, I will most likely replace it with a detangler/leave in from the shampoo/conditioner product line.

:yep:Any self respecting product junkie crosses lines all the time!

But, I will admit, after reading about the synergistic effect of using products together(even Suave advocates this) I will stay within a line, but will switch lines altogether from day to day. Today was NTM moisture line, tomorrow may be the suave extreme strength line, next may be my organic sulfate free poos(I use the others as clarifiers) and condishes and I just ordered the Mizani poo and condish set for when I relax. I also like to alternate between protein and moisturizing so this little system works well for me. I think I borrowed this idea from tsmith.

Not every product from every line is GOLD. So even if line X has a good contioner and leave in, there are no guarantees that line x's shampoo is just as good. Line Y might make a shampoo (for your hair) that works better with the other good products from line x. Dont limit yourself.

I think it doesnt matter what shampoo & conditoner you use. I really dont beleive using shampoo and conditoner in the same line makes the products cooperate or work better, i think its just something that came about from companies wanting to make more money
All proucts have ingredients that can be found in any product, but thats just me

I wanted to use an entire line of product just because i like simplicity, but my sorry behind hair only like CON poo, and carefree moisturizer :nono:

Yep :yep: If a shampoo/conditioner is good, it will work well regardless of what you use before/afterwards. I'm a PJ-- Brand loyalty? What dat be?

I combine products from all over the place, no brand loyatly at all. Now if I get a product that is good, that will make me more likely to try all their other stuff out, but I will still mix and match. Years ago I tried to stick to one line, as I had also read that products with in a line are designed to work together and enhance the benefits of each other, but I've yet to run across a line that meets my all my needs and has all the different styling products I need.

I only use 2 lines of products consistently same poo and conditioner is Elucence and Keracare and I alternate these lines.
I am a conditioner PJ so I use alot of different deep conditioners without the poo from that line.

Yup I cross. That whole staying within the lines thing wasn't working....
:nono:

I'm still mad that even though I was aware about sulfates on this board...I was using a poo that had sulfates because I was using the conditioner (cough, Keracare) ...until I finally listened that my hair was saying "B****, I don't like sulfates, will you stop it..."

Now it's all good. :)

Being a PJ, I own several different lines. I usually pair the shampoo and conditioner from the same line and then deep condition with a different line. The only time I don't do this is when I clarify. I only have one clarifying shampoo (Kenra), and I won't always use my Kenra MC & Poo with it if there's another line I want to use. This last time I clarified with Kenra and used Aussie Moist Poo & Con, then deep conditioned with Cathy Howse and Matrix Biolage Ultra-Hydrating Balm. Afterwards I used Garnier Fructis Anti-Split Ends leave-in. So that's what? Five different lines in one wash day?!

I almost always cross lines between shampoo and conditioner or anything else. Guess I haven't found the PER-FEC-T line for my hair. Anyway do it all the time and will probably continue.

I only stick with the same line if I'm using Kerastase. Otherwise, I just use whatever I have in the stash that week.

I am a habitual line stepper also.

I like the idea of using a complete line. All the matching bottles are cute. But I have yet to find a complete line that meets all my needs. It might have all the product components, but they don't all work as well as I would like.

I have the Keracare Humecto conditioner, but I like the Elasta QP shampoo for relaxed hair better than Keracare's shampoo. I like that Elasta QP has a lower pH and seemingly better ingredients.

i cross the line gottdammit!!:grin:there is so many different lines with products that I like...i just can't help it.

i wanted to use all Keracare products once upon a time..never happened.

I have to admit I cross the line...even now that im in the All Aveda Challenge. I guess it's safe to say i have failed that challenge  :wallbash:

Although I do love Aveda, there are some products that I think work better for MY hair :look: I believe Kenra MC is the best moisturizing conditioner i've used.

Yesterday i used Aubrey's Honey SuckleRose as a pre poo, Aveda DR poo, Kenra MC and rollerset using Healthy Sexy Hair Soy Wheat leave in & Giovanni leave in & Aveda Brilliant Serum. That's 5 different lines! But my hair looks & feels great!

I love seeing all my Aveda bottles lined up, then I think of how much $$$$ I spent on it :spinning: :drunk: :wallbash:
