I just got a relaxer on Aug 15 after a 13 week stretch.

I got a relaxer in January, May, August and my last will be December.
In 2006 I got four relaxers I think. It was my first time stretching over 8 weeks. I think I really damaged my hair with the Chi Iron because this was pre-LHCF (Jan-Sept. 2006).
After learning some tips on here I'm addicted to stretching now, I'm definently in.

Okay, I wanna join in to!!!! I get crazy around 6 weeks (lol, lol) My new growth is just so rough and my hair sheds a lot but I wanna stretch too, I need help I was reading about the s-curl might have to try that to get through it so if we start today 12 weeks will be up on November 7th???

I need some help too. My last relaxer was May 30th. I would love to stretch until the First of December. Please help! Ladies, what do you do with your hair during a loooooong stretch? I am thinking about the crown and glory method. Help Help Help:wallbash:
BRAIDOUTS are a long stretchers friend:yep:

I am stretching until November 19. I am already 3 months gone, but I have 3 left. I have been in braids for one month and 10 days, 2 months of deep conditioning after that then I can TEXLAX.

I'm in. I think.... lol. I could get a relaxer just before my birthday Dec.2.

I'm using braid spray and wigging it. My shedding is virtually non-existent and my new growth is really soft.

I would join you ladies but I only have about one month left in my stretch. You know otherwise. ;)

Gym, I told you earlier that I would hold your hand, so here goes. Here are the products that I use tonight for my mid week wash and set that melted the tangles away. I promise you, I did not have any problem detangling my hair.

Poo-Mizani Botanifying Cond Poo (lightly)
Tropical Aguacate (Avocado) Rinse
Naturals Key Sabila & Aguacate (Aloe Vera/Avocado) Cond (30 min heat)
Capilo Romero (Rosemary) Cond (15 min heat) The comb glided through 13 wks ng!

Leave Ins-Lacio Lacio, Lady Flor Olive Oil, Mizani Therma Strength, Lotta Body (1 part 3 part water adding a little Lacio Lacio)

I have just about convinced myself that Dom Cond are the key to stretching. And don't forget about NONI. I just decided to use other products tonight since I have soooooooo many Dom Con:grin:

Another stretch buddy here, I'm 8 weeks into my 12 week stretch but If things continue to go as well as they have I might attempt (dare I say it )14-16 weeks. I've never gone more than 6 weeks before so I am so proud, lol.

Thanks girl. I am going to order some new conditioners next week. Nevermind the 100 bucks I spent today.

I keep forgetting that I have this and how could I? This is DA TRUTH!!
Capilo Romero (Rosemary) Conditioner :clapping:

Ladies, please run out and get this. Supposedly great for growing and conditioner hair and stopping breakage. The directions call for using it as a 15 minute pre-poo. Recommended highly by LaFlaca

Thanks. I will have to get this next week too. I am going to be flat broke

I am already 10 weeks post and trying to hold out for twelve weeks.
Sorry I cant join you all now but at least I want to share some advice that I think would help.
This is my regimen which is working for me so far, so maybe it can work for you too.

I wash every three days but I am thinking of doing it every two days for the last two weeks. if I go beyond three or four days then my roots begin to get hard, unmanageable and breakage begins to set in.

Preepoo- Hot six oil and NTM conditioner.
I put a generous of conditioner on first and then the hot six oil and cover with two plastic caps for 30mins -1hr

Shampoo- Beauty Without Cruelty moisture Plus for dry/treated hair
I only shampoo once making sure I am massaging the scalp and not the hair.

Deep Condition- Since I wash twice a week I aternate between moisture conditioning with NTM daily deep conditioner and Protein conditioning with Giovanni protein rich conditioner nutrfix hair reconstructor for these last two weeks. But usually I do a protein conditioner twice a week.

Leave In- Rusk passion flower and aloe leave in texturizing conditioner. I love this leave in because it gets my roots very soft and leaves my hair nice and shiny with a pleasant scent.

I then rollerset my hair to dry. No heat.

I moisturize twice a day, before I style in the morning and before I roller set at night. I follow up with some hot six oil after moisturizing to seal in moisture and condition. I use BB Moisturizing growth lotion and hair strengthener for my moisturizer and I think it is very good.

What helps me a lot in stretching is the frequent washing, the leave in and roller setting

Hope this is helpful to you all.

Any one want to hold my hand :grin:

I am going to need some support, I have never stretched 12 weeks before.

Ok we're going to be each others support because I'm about to do a six month stretch-braidout. :yep: I'm going to miss having my hair out.:ohwell:

Gymfreak I can help you till november 2nd my Bday. Im already at 12 weeks my last relaxer was June 6th. I stopped the shedding by stopping using bt (bT I loove you still) Co washes and low manipulation well almost till none. I let the water detangle for me and while under the water I smooth it out and put it in a pony and my butters whip when I get out. btw I fell off the aveda wagon. I have used this Lady Fior rinse and La Bomba Rinse and boy they detangle hair like no other. I loving my NG In thinking about transitioning.

Thanks for sharing your regime. I will have to try that hot six and neutrogena moisture sandwhich. I have both products already.

I plan to stretch til Dec 10th which would be 4 months for me... The longest I've stretched was 10 wks... I have no idea how I'm gonna do it :ohwell:

You are a brave soul. I couldn't do that:nono: You can do it though. I got got faith in ya:grin:

it's gonna be tough for sure. but i've been seeing a lot of women here who do touchups 3-4 months or even twice a year. I really want to give it a shot. i just hope no major events come up between now and then because i think that is what will really tempt me to touchup early!

I wanna be in. My 12 weeks are up on November 1. This will be my second stretch. I joined lhcf in May after a TU and stretched for 12. It was easy because I was really excited to be doing something new. Now this is my second and I hope I can do it.

I'll hold your hand girl. I'm 16 weeks as of yesterday and I'm doing good. I plan to relax at the end of the year. I had a blowout done almost 2 weeks ago so I just been bunning it. I haven't washed my hair since the blowout and my scalp isn't bothering me, however I plan to wash my hair after the holiday.
What helps is low manipulation. I'll cowash once maybe twice a week depending on how my hair starts to look after a couple of days. I use MNT and Tressemee when cowashing. Loves it! Then bun and go.
HTH!

Me too. I have to count my days out loud

Great post.

I'm in with everyone. I wanted to stretch until December. I'm 13 weeks post relaxer now but I really want to see if I can go for 6 months. My last perm was on June 2nd. :)

Does anyone find that when stretching, your family and friends ask about when you are going to get your touch-up? I hate having to explain to my mother and sister the benefits. They say if you want your hair pretty, why go through such a long "ugly stage."

My mom looked at me funny one time. She is natural so she asked if I was transistioning.

Dillard, I plan to stretch til Dec. 8th (4 mos), so we can do it together if you like. I've never gone beyond 10 wks either, so it'll be a first for me as well. We're about the same length too.
