Instructions for Mizani Thermasmooth

THERMASMOOTH is designed to treat all hair types including natural, transitioning and relaxed hair. Based on client’s hair type, density and length, it is suggested to carefully customize the amount of product and application.​

THE PROCESS
The THERMASMOOTH system performs best in the care of a MIZANI stylist with professional heating tools. To achieve the most effective thermal straightening service, MIZANI suggests the following:​

Professional Blowdryer
Ceramic Tourmaline Flatiron with temperature control
Curling Irons
Hot Comb
Round Brush​

WAVY HAIR
CLEANSE​

• Apply 1 ounce of

• ThermaSmooth Shampoo to wet hair.
  [*]
  Lather. Rinse hair thoroughly with tepid water. Repeat.​

CONDITION​

• Towel blot and gently massage a liberal amount of ThermaSmooth Conditioner into the hair and scalp.

•

  Comb conditioner through with a wide tooth comb.​
  [*]
  Let sit for 3-5 minutes.​
  [*]
  Rinse hair thoroughly with tepid to cool water.​

SMOOTH

• Towel dry hair. Evenly distribute 1-2 pumps of

• Smooth Guard throughout the hair.
• Section hair into 4 parts and secure with clips for control.
• Blow dry thoroughly.

SHINE

• Adjust temperature of heat tool to accommodate hair type and texture and section hair.
• Slightly spray

• Shine Extend to each section in preparation for smoothing.
• Smooth 1/4" sections according to hair density until entire head has been straightened.
• Style as desired.

CURLY HAIR

CLEANSE

• Apply 1 ounce of

• ThermaSmooth Shampoo to wet hair.
• Lather. Rinse hair thoroughly with tepid water. Repeat.

CONDITION​

• Towel blot and gently massage a liberal amount of

• ThermaSmooth Conditioner into the hair and scalp.
• Comb Conditioner through with a wide tooth comb.
• Place a plastic cap on the hair and let client sit under warm dryer for 5 minutes.
• Cool down for 1 minute and rinse hair thoroughly with tepid to cool water.

SMOOTH​

• Towel dry hair. Evenly distribute 2-3 pumps of

• Smooth Guard throughout the hair.
• Section hair into 4 parts and secure hair with clips for control.
• Blow dry each section applying 1-2 additional pumps as needed.
• Continue process until desired level of smoothness is achieved.

SHINE​

• Adjust temperature of heat tool to accommodate hair type and texture and section for styling.
• Slightly spray

• Shine Extend to each section in preparation for smoothing.
• Smooth 1/4" sections according to hair density until entire head has been straightened.
• Style as desired.
• Slightly spray Shine Extend to finish to help lock in style and add shine.

EXCESSIVELY CURLY HAIR

CLEANSE

• Apply 1 ounce of

• ThermaSmooth Shampoo to wet hair.
• Lather. Rinse hair thoroughly with tepid water. Repeat.

CONDITION

• Towel blot and gently massage a liberal amount of

• ThermaSmooth Conditioner into the hair and scalp.
• Comb Conditioner through with a wide tooth comb.
• Place a plastic cap on the hair and let client situnder warm dryer for 10 minutes.
• Cool down for 1 minute and rinse hair thoroughlywith tepid to cool water.

SMOOTH

• Towel dry hair. Evenly distribute 2-3 pumps of

• Smooth Guard throughout the hair.
• Section hair into 4 parts and secure hair with clips for control.
• Blow dry each section applying 1-2 additional pumps as needed.
• Continue process until desired level of smoothness is achieved.

I used 2 pumps to each section of bras strap hair, Blowdrying then flat iron with CHI.
spayed with shine.
Hair was natural in very good condition...
Final rsult looked like a head ful of weave but was all hers

Ladies, I bought the trial version of this system at my local BSS this past weekend (I paid $20). I washed my hair as instructed, then conditioned my hair under the dryer for 20 minutes. I then loosely twisted my hair up in 4 strands and let it airdry over night.

The next day, I applied the serum (Smooth Guard) and then spritzed each section with the anti-frizz shine spray (Shine Extend) and flat ironed by hair in about 1" pieces. My hair turned out just as straight as when my stylist does it. I was shocked because I:

• was able to do it myself with relative ease;
• did not blow dry as instructed (I don't even own a blow dryer anymore)!

I thought because I was airdrying, it wasn't going to achieve the same straight results, but I did. I'll have to take pictures the next time I do it (I've already washed it out).

I used the conditioner and serum on my daughter's hair. She's natural. It came out straight but I think that may have been because of the flat iron and not the thermasmooth. I used about 10 pumps of serum and just blowdried her hair. Then I flat ironed it but I didn't add anymore serum. Should I have used the spray too? Next time should I apply serum to each section? Guess I could go back and reread the directions

I went to JC Penney and the stylist said she'd charge $50. I'm debating going to her or trying to do it myself.

To me, the heart and soul of the system are the serum and anti-frizz spray. I really think you can achieve the same results just using any moisturizing shampoo and conditioner. I could be wrong about that though, so I'll have to test this theory the next time I use it (which will be in a month).

Really? For my the conditioner had the straightening properties. Especially since it contains the coconut oil which has the straightening properties. Also, if you notice in the instructions, the only thing that really changes among the different hair textures is the amount of time you leave the conditioner in. Idk...this is my own opinion.

You may be right about that. That's why I have to test it using other conditioners next time I do it. I will report back my findings.

Just got it done yesterday by Balisi on 5 months post relaxer. It worked well. My hair looked relaxed and my new growth was screaming. My true test is to see how long the pretty results will last.
What do you ladies use after it's all done....do you use serums,grease,oil sheen ect...

It's supposed to last around 2 weeks, but I always wash my hair after about 5 days (that's all I can stand before my scalp starts crawling). But right after I get it done, I usually lightly spray it with some kind of sheen spray daily. After about 3 days, it starts to get oily and separate.

Yes, there is definitely a technique to this system. The first time I tried it on my daughter's natural hair, I didn't like it at all. Her hair felt and looked dry and stiff. And it was sticky. But I tried it again the other day and it looks like she has a relaxer! This time I let her sit under the dryer for about 20 minutes (although she probably was only under it for 10 minutes because she kept getting up). Next I applied a little serum to her hair and blowdried it on cool. Finally, I applied a cople drops of serum to each section as I flat ironed. Her hair was so soft and silky, I couldn't stop touching it. I'm going to buy the spritz and see if I get even better results.

Im so mad it didn't work for me it blowed dryed nice but when i flatiron it wit the shine extend it was dry looking. so i added oil sheen in a jar and it was aight. This therma smooth Gots to work for me! i paid 85 dollars. hmm maybe it just dosnt look right since i have a bad hair cut.

But I must say it worked on my grandma(she natural) and he hair has never been that silky it was so pretty it looked fuller too she has short thin grey hair. and my mother She hasnt had a relaxer in ages i used the system on her and it was silky! Its still silky i did it a week ago and she roll it up

Will it work if you style your hair with a roller wrap or do you have to flat iron in sections? As much as I love my FHI Runway, I'm trying to avoid the direct heat as much as possible.
