I have heard that you should not get a relaxer after working out:nono:. but how long is enough time to get your pores back closed up so you don't burn?:burn: Does anyone work out everyday where they sweat?:confused: What do you do? any input would be helpful thanks.
 
There was a thread not too long ago about this. Try the search feature but I think the concensus in that thread was to try to wait at the VERY LEAST 3-5 days. I wouldn't do any less than that or you WILL BE :burning: DEFINITELY!!!!

Are you serious?!? I had no idea?!? I work out everyday, and I'm getting my perm on Friday. Man, how am I going to fix this?!? :pullhair:
 
I relax the day after working out. I've never had a problem. I just don't work out the day I'm going to relax. I just relaxed on the 12th after working out the day before.
 
I was looking for that thread where this was addressed but I can't find it. I'll keep looking and edit my post if I find it but IMO if your scalp gets wet from rain or working out or whatever, It is not a good idea to relax. I have a long time ago with a damp scalp and I burned BAD but I burn easily anyway but this time was the worst EVER. I think it's because the hair follicle is still very open when you sweat. If you could maybe not workout a day or 2 before you relax or make sure your scalp is totally dry. If all else fails, base the heck out of that scalp and keep it moving.:lachen:or relaxin that is.

Whaaaaaaaaaaat!! :wow:oh no what do you do if you work out everyday? I have started this kick on losing weight if I don't work out for 3-5 days that would be a MAJOR SET Back:badidea: if you know what I mean. Wow I did not know this. I wonder if I base my head REALLY good would that help? Any other inputs would be helpful and I am going to check out the search thread again.
 
Thanks Ladies for your help I read through that post and I forgot I actually posted on that one but I know it's not a good idea to relax after a work out but I mainly wanted to know how long I should wait? I had one bad experience before so maybe a day or two won't hurt (looks like that seems to be average) or maybe I can relax in the morning and wait till later in the day to work out??? just a thought how does that sound??

I think waiting at least 24 hours after working out is OK, at least for me. Perhaps do less strenuous, not too cardio intensive so you don't sweat too much then wait until next day for touchup . . .

I don't think will be a major setback to skip one day every now and then, but that's just me . . ..

Hi Neroli thanks, one day is not that bad or maybe I can survive two butI was just thinking about what the other one said 3-5 days:nono: now that I don't know if I can do. I have to keep going while I have the momentum (sp?). If I slow down now it might take me a while to get back in the grove of things. Thanks though for your help.
