I just purchased it from Sally's this past weekend. It is all black and it says "salon creations" on the top of it. The temp goes from 200- about 450 degrees. I have 4 b relaxed hair. I wanted to know if anybody owns one of these , or has had it used on their hair before that can give me some tips on the temp to use? I used it this past weekend after washing my hair and sprayed some heat protectant in it,but my hair didnt come out like i wanted it too. Im not sure if i should take it back and try another , or stick this one out. I had it on 250 degrees most of the time

I use the Salon Creations flat iron, but mine is silver/gray. I believe it's ceramic and tourmaline. I've had it for about 6 months and used it about once a week (on wash day) until about a month ago. I use it on 300 degrees and that works fine. When I have a lot of new growth (I'm also 4b & relaxed), I crank it up to 350 for the roots, but it SMOKES LIKE CRAZY even when it's perfectly clean and has no product on it. I can't stand the burnt smell, so I never go past 300. I can't imagine what it would do if I turned it up to 400 - 450!

lol^^ i noticed the same thing when i turned it up to 300. thats when i put it all the way back on 200 cause i got scared :) im not sure if im using the right products to get my hair straight. i want to turn it up but Im scared of the heat damage, but I guess if i have the right protectant , it shouldnt be too bad. I also need a protein treatment , so that might also be why my hair is sitting the way i want it too. i heard the tourmaline was good. im thinking about taking this one back.
